In all honesty I only continue to post here out of habit. Since BigBomb and Sothe I no longer feel like a sense of community, nor do I enjoy this place much. But to be clear I don't feel any resentment towards those two any more, as it is their right to post here. In fact Sothe is one of the few people I still find interesting, as perverse as that is.

I feel like DRL is a community that I get to be a part of without feeling like an outsider. I like that, so I stay around.

I find that this is true with most people that have been around since the nether days. Hell, it's quite true when applied to myself. I no longer play the game, or even post much, but I still lurk around out of habit.

Although I have to that there never was real sense of community, just a group of really angry teens who, over time, where either cast out or simply outgrew their anger. Which was expected, I guess.

I do have to concede that the forum was much more engaging back then, with all the ramblings, teen drama, anger towards everything and everyone and Data not giving a single ♥♥♥♥, even back then. Weasel was a bit of a heavy handed move, but I guess he tried to get stuff done in terms of keeping people up to date, which is more than can be said for the present situation.

If by engaging you mean "keeps you on your toes to avoid a train-sized ♥♥♥♥ ramming into your arse every other second", i agree. Don't know if i've mentioned this before, but i VERY NEARLY left this place for good because of how hostile it was back then. I did leave the previous IRC channel for good for that exact reason. "Good riddance" i hear you thinking, and then you will hear me thinking "yeah ♥♥♥♥ you too nippletwiddler", it can't bloody well be true that a forest of clowns has to obscure what is otherwise a pretty decent place. To be fair though, i WAS even more annoying back then than i am now.

Fortunately though, it has changed for the better, at least in my eyes. I'm mostly lurking nowadays, though that's mainly because my forum habits are changing. Y'alls are fine folks nowadays. <3

Nay, i joined Bay12 (january 24th 2011) way after DRLFF (seen to the left). What you might be thinking of is Toribash, which i did indeed join first. :U

Very much so, it's up to version 4.62 now (and is free as of 3.00 in case you missed it), although i don't really play the game itself any more. I'd be lying if i said i haven't enjoyed my time with it, though. :U

I think it's kind of ♥♥♥♥ up that because of me, I ruined your sense of community. I guess I won... jk. Thanks for finding me interesting by the way. I find you interesting as well. Maybe we should go steady, but I'd have to ask veve if she'd be okay with this first.

I find that highly offensive. You're only using us as a scapegoat to finalize your irrational logic, that this place wasn't dead when we came along.
I keep telling you and everyone around here, I've been lurking with DRLFF since mid B22, signed in mid b23 and haven't seen this explosion of content you all keep going on about.
Unless your definition of a surge means 4-5 popular mods that were regularly updated once a month, then yeah, that's your community right there, alongside the 10 threads a week that questioned "how do i make mods".

This community was long gone before I even decided to stick my neck around here, so I'll be damned if you're going to take a shot at my character, claiming I was the doombringing of a community, when in fact it was the sloping interest in CC generally and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reputation to officially dig this communities own grave.

I don't think that's really what he's getting at. The character of the community has shifted a bit since you guys joined, so it's not that unreasonable to say he feels a bit disconnected from it.
