Do blind people notice that's what they see? Maybe we have a whole bunch of senses that are sort of there but are filled with the same kind of white noise.
Again, it's all just noise. Noise when I'm blinded from orthostatic hypotension, when I was blinded more than ten years ago.

Re: The Lounge
I imagine someone who was 100% blind from birth would not be able to process color/images at all in the same manner we do. I guess it would be like regular seeing people trying to imagine what a new color would look like.
When you pass out from stress and need guidance in life, the rolling fields of your mind will feature me leaping through the long grass as it blows in the breeze. I will embrace you like a brother, and you will feel my spirit within you. Together we will find our way across the meadow until you find the strength to make it onward in this world. I will always be a part of you.

The centers of the brain which would ordinarily be responsible for image processing atrophy and get hijacked by other sensory systems such as touch and hearing, so you're correct.
After a long period of blindness, or blindness from a very early age, even corrective surgery to fix them eyeballs will be useless because the brain utterly fails to process what it's seeing, to the point where, say, a dog seen in profile won't be recognized as being the same dog seen from another perspective.
"To See and Not See" by Oliver Sacks is related and pretty damn interesting.
When the cold winds of darkness blow through the ventricles of your heart, and the setting of the sun brings with it no promise of rise, breathe a breath of warmth and I will breathe with you. Your eyes will shine with passion as you feel my words take you in flight. Even if the universe dims and dies, you will be the last beacon of hope, because I am the force that guides you.
