New avatar. Fits closer to the daemon part of my name. Unfortunately, finding an image for 170 by 140 is hard. So I went for the closest I could get.

Unfortunately, that is 1000 by 1000 if I want Malik from HoMM VI. Might change it again soon, if I find a good image.

You guys know you can just set the dimensions of an image in the Control Panel, and it'll stretch the picture to that size?
Like, just put in 140x140, and it'll be resized automatically.

Yeah, but me manually resizing it down and having the site doing it both result in the exact same outcome.

I sure as hell haven't had a problem with it.

My image is 1000 pixels by 1000 pixels. No matter how I resize it, it won't look too good. It's in the spoiler below if anyone wants to see what it should look like fully, but I am going to try doing it with the site's built in resizing.



EDIT : Huh. I did it the site way, and it looks better than it did when I did it on my PC. How strange. Ah well.

Alcohol is ♥♥♥♥ excellent. I thought it was inane how people would want to make them self stupider but it is actually the best feeling ever. Pubs are also really nice. Beer tastes bad but there's good food and acceptable tasting drinks and everyone is so nice.

I didn't even get a hangover; in fact I woke up super early but felt better than I ever have waking up. I feel bad for my friends though as they did not have as good of an experience.

Oh man I wasted so much time and so many opportunities to drink not getting drunk.

the secret to resizing images in programs to keep them looking crisp is to resize it in half incrementally- for example with 1000x1000, just resize in half to 500x500, then 250x250 until you get to 140x140. personally i think photoshop is the best for resizing but thats not important. to be honest for just avatars it is way better to do it in the user control panel, doesnt require launching a program, resizes clearly every time, and as a bonus users can right click and view the image to see it full scale if they want. just way more convenient imo.

That's a terrible idea to resize incrementally. Each time you're using less pixel information to resize.
You'll get the best results if you just resize from the start to whatever resolution you're aiming for.

In the end, it doesn't really matter since all you're doing is finding a proper size for the image to fit in a 170x140 dimension anyway.
