It's interesting to note that this is applied to women much more than men~

The male equivalent is Gary Stu. If you're reading fanfic critics, they probably apply this properly, so I'd hope they wouldn't call a guy a Mary Sue.

You can't call a real person a mary sue because that's a term for fictional characters

It's not interesting if it's a result of being a self-insert.

It would be ironic if someone that was assumed a male was called a mary sue when they are female.
