Deciding the MAU to be out of it Irvine calls over the radio "MAU's neutralized, focus your fire on the NTs or else there won't be anything good left to salvage." The NTs scatter slightly, one fires on Harald again, but the other switches targets to Irvine. Shortly after Johann shuts his mech down Ivan Zavod calls him up, albeit on a heavily distorted line. "Johann, I just read a spike in your reactors temprature, it seems something must have busted itself, we're sending out a truck to recover you. Just don't try turning that thing back on, never really trusted the number 11 reactor much, guess that crack in its casing was more significant than we initially thought."TorrentHKU> Remove lock, charge railgun.Pilot name: John Freemech Description: An energetic man with a fearsome beast of a goatee. You shut off your lock on the MAU and set your railgun to charge up for another shot. Mech: Starbangermaart3n----Pilot name: Barqa Octavius Description: A veteran warrior with a temper, got sick of fighting for the companies and went rogue. Although he has a short fuse the man is still far more intelligent than he looks Ability: Jet charge [+2 to the first attack made against an enemy with the lance] You continue towards the others, you figure you might be able to get there in time to help with the time you're making, and if not at least you'll be ready to group up with them. Mech: RetiariusNatti [7-2-2=3] [3] [20=20] [20]>Move seemingly at random to throw off the enemies' aim, fire off another shot at the largest enemy target.Pilot name: Harald "Hardrada" Blomgren Description: A broad of build but rather short figure with a magnificent red beard. Doesn't talk much. You try dodging from side to side to throw off the Rifle NT that is firing on you while returning fire on it, your shot misses, and somehow despite being the largest target out here you manage to avoid its fire. Mech: The LumberjackCaveCricket48 [7-1+3=8] [8]> Fire at an NT, preferably one that isn't currently being attacked, dodge if necessary.Pilot Name: Markus "Mark" Tullen Description: A light-skinned skinny 26 year-old man who used to work in an engineering bay. He doesn't say much, and is described as being "in the zone" when working. Ability: Zen [+2 Accuracy, -2 Movement/Evasion] [2 Turn Duration, 3 Turn Cooldown [after end duration]] You shift your aim to one f the NTs, but it steps to the side at the last moment and your shot merely blisters the paint along its side. Mech: SnipehawkRagdollmaster ----Pilot Name: Johann Metzger Description: A friendly and easy-going fellow of German descent with excellent natural reflexes, he's a deadly speed demon in his mech. Ability: Brawler [+1 to Melee attacks / -1 to Ranged attacks] Reacting quickly you quickly run the shutdown sequence on your mech, shutting down the reactor and preventing it from getting any hotter, at which point you are thankful that your reserve power allows you to receive a call from base. Mech: White FlashArcalane> Advance on the NTs in an evasive stance.Pilot Name: Irvine Callahan Description: A lanky, tanned American pilot who lost his right eye before joining the mercs. It doesn't seem to have negatively affected his piloting skills. Calm and confident. Ability: Evasion Focus [Scaling/variable skill: Evasion Focus (3) = +3 evasion, -3 accuracy. Evasion Focus (5) = +5 evasion, -5 accuracy. Etc.] Figuring the MAU is done for you head on up to get closer to the NTs, making sure to manoeuvre evasively, which proves a smart move as a pair of rifle rounds impact behind you. Mech: Bloodhound "Delta" [13-3+3=13] [13]Combat Map: John, Harald, Markus and Irvine are at A3. Barqa is heading towards A3. Enemy StatusMAU: crippled legs, minor chest damage, no left arm. North Rifle NT: minor torso damage. South Rifle NT: no damage. So: rag is officially out, and after this battle wraps up Fail Flail is in.

The MAU disagreeing with Irvines thought, gets back up and resumes fire on Markus, scoring several hits, meanwhile the NTs continue scattering and fire on the same targets, one hitting Harald and the other missing Irvine. Although he has a short fuse the man is still far more intelligent than he looks Ability: Jet charge [+2 to the first attack made against an enemy with the lance] You continue onwards, and you start getting ready to engage combat systems as you've almost reached the battle. Doesn't talk much. You sweep your aim over to the southern NT, and unload a blast of plasma at it, unfortunately your shot misses. The NT on the other hand manages to score a hit despite your attempts at dodging, your energy shield springs to life and slows the round significantly, but it still strikes and chips off a small chunk of armour. Ability: Zen [+2 Accuracy, -2 Movement/Evasion] [2 Turn Duration, 3 Turn Cooldown [after end duration]] Firing at the NT again you manage to vaporise a chunk of rubble that it dodges behind at the last moment, this guy must be some kinda hotshot to be dodging this much fire, only then do you notice a lock-on warning pop up on your HUD, you turn to see what is targetting you and just as you hear the whoosh of your anti missile system firing off a salvo of missiles you realise the MAU is just finishing getting back up and has started unloading its weapons at you, jerking at the controls you manage to avoid a shot from its cannon, your anti missile system managed to intercept two of the incoming missiles, but the other two managed to get through and they shatter large chunks of your light armour. Mech: SnipehawkArcalane [7+1-1+3=10] [10] [6=6] [6]> Switch jamming to whichever NT is actively targeting me and continue evasive approach. Etc.] After switching your Jamming from the MAU to the NT that is targeting you it opens fire, but fails to cut through your jamming and its shot goes wide, you then unleash a salvo of missiles at the other, which it somehow manages to dodge all but one of, the one that impacts merely blowing away a minor chunk of armour. Mech: Bloodhound "Delta" [13-3+3=13] [13]Combat Map: John, Harald, Markus and Irvine are at A3. Barqa is nearly at A3. Enemy StatusMAU: crippled legs, minor chest damage, no left arm. If relay/target-assist is impossible, run interference and distract the NTs with more missiles.

The NTs fire again but once again miss, the MAU tries firing on Markus once more, but it misses thanks to near enough falling over from the sudden balance shift caused by losing its leg. Swapping back to aiming on the MAU, you prepare to fire, but just before you do lines of code cover you vision for a moment and you aim jerks to the side slightly adjusting for a slight bit of inaccuracy you had, but even with this it avoids your shot when it almost falls over, the NT has even less luck when firing on you, its shot missing completely. The return fire it gives is partially thrown off by your attack, its cannon shot misses but its missiles are on target, despite this you manage to dodge them with ease this time. Mech: SnipehawkArcalane [19=19] [19]>Provide additional targeting data for Harald and Mark (if possible) so they can quickly finish off the MAU, and maintain defensive maneuvering. Etc.] While talking back to Markus you rapidly type a string of commands into your console, your computer strains to safely compute a transmission to your allies, but it seems it managed to do so correctly from the lack of swearing you received and the results produced, you doubt that you'll be able to reliably do that again, you almost had them targeting behind themselves for a moment there. Only then do you notice the incoming fire from the NT that thankfully goes wide. Mech: Bloodhound "Delta"Combat Map: John, Barqa, Harald, Markus and Irvine are at A3. Enemy StatusMAU: crippled right leg, no left leg, minor chest damage, no left arm. North Rifle NT: minor torso damage. South Rifle NT: minor torso damage.
