Saw Caravan Palace the other night. The venue was pretty terrible for that kind of show, but the band was still great. Obligatory blurry poorly-cropped phone pictures:


I don't even know how they managed do dance on a stage that small without knocking all their instruments over, since 6 of the band's 7 members had 2-3 different instruments in front of them. But they did dance a lot, which was cool. Considering this was the second-to-last stop on this tour, they sure had a lot of energy.

Some genres are inherently bad. I'm going to name a few since my days over and I'm finna go to bed bout now.

Jump Up and Anthem Trance are both extremely cookie cutter genres by nature. Jump Up being DnB, and Anthem Trance being Trance of course. No, there aren't simply "a lot of cookie cutter artists with a few good ones". It's the rules to make all the songs in this cookie cutter fashion, or else its not in the style. Brostep is a lot like Jump Up and Anthem Trance, no wonder its so popular now. Just like Jump Up and Anthem Trance, mostly all songs "drop" or cease breakdown around the same time 1:00-2:00

NRG takes away breakdowns and release, leaving just buildup. The party can't stop can't stop can't stop can't stop can't stop. It's like playing a rock or hip hop song, but only repeating the hook with no verses. No doubt music villains use to brainwash background characters into rave slaves.

Lolicore was a style created by a Hardcore EDM artist to insult loli fetishists and speedcore artists at the same time, melding the two into a giant joke genre. If you ever liked anything lolicore, you're the butt of the joke.

Cause I don't do that enough. If you actually like the sound of Anthem Trance, I suggest listening to the more merited styles its based on, Progressive House and Progressive Trance. NRG is actually just Hard Acid Trance, but without a beginning or end.
