There is a solid smacking sound as your palm hits your face while Vesh talks to the pointy-hat guy.

Vesh: "Paying work. I can't afford the quiver. Do you have a task I can assist with to get said quiver?"

???: "Hrm, well, I was taking a stroll through the forest a little north of the bridge a few days ago, and lost my favorite dragon plushie. If you can get that back for me, you can have the quiver."

"♥♥♥♥."
"Yo. Shopkeep. This a magic shop, right? What've you got?"

Erale: "..Well, he certainly looks the part at least."

???: "Ah, plenty of things! Feel free to browse. Is there anything you're looking for in particular?"

You fetch yourself another crate, rip the lid off, and bludgeon that ore into metal.

"Could go at this all day."

LarK: "Good to hear, though it has already struck night!"

He's pretty fast at hammering the ore, but you think you're starting to get a bit faster, working on your third already.

You - 2 crates
Lark - 3 crate
Remaining - 21 crates

You head into the mystical magical shop.

Vesh: "Paying work. I can't afford the quiver. Do you have a task I can assist with to get said quiver?"

There is a solid smacking sound as Mikoto applies her palm to her face.

Vesh: "Paying work. I can't afford the quiver. Do you have a task I can assist with to get said quiver?"

???: "Ah, plenty of things! Feel free to browse. Is there anything you're looking for in particular?"

Some guy enters the shop, but you ignore him and browse.

Nothing seems to be labeled with anything beside price tags. There are old weapons, jewlery, clothes, tools, time-keeping devices, and items that you've never seen before. Even if none of the items were magical, it's still an interesting place.

One item seems to stand out though, from all the others. Sitting on an eye-level shelf is a pair of golden cloth shears with ornately decorated handles.

"Shouldn't be too hard to kill these with just a shield. Back in a bit."

???: "Wait..."

The man reaches below the desk, grabs something you can't see, and then tosses you a long wooden pole when he sits back up.

Catching the weapon, you see that it's a spear. The shaft is Ash, and the head is steel.

???: "If you nab at least one of those beats, consider it yours permanently. If not, well, I'll probably not be getting it back anyways."

You give the man a nod before heading out of the building and out of the town. Though it's night time, you manage to figure out which way is east due to the convenient cardinal markers that occasionally sit at street intersections.

While the town is well-lit at night, the surrounding area is not, and you find yourself trudging through empty grassy plains for a while until you hear the sound of of moving water, and the starlight reflecting off of the gushing liquid.

You're roughly in between the bridge and the bottom of the map, if you're to guess.

Walk along the side of the river with the spear at the ready to harpoon the fish if it's sighted.

"Where are you, you bloody fish."

Vesh asks the wizard guy for directions or something and then leaves.

The old coot turns his attention back to you.

"Two actually.
One, I do lightning. Got anything that helps with that?
Two, I need money. Got any work besides plushie... rescue?"

???: "Lightning, hmm?"

The wizard walks to the other side of the store, scanning the shelves before coming back with a 3-foot gnarled wooden staff.

- Gnarled Wizard's Staff (Weight : 0.8) (Active : +3 INT)

???: "This staff amplifies spells that you cast. I don't think I have anything specifically lightning, though. As for other work, there isn't anything else I need done, unless if you want to try to go find me magic artifacts and trade them for something I have."

Erale: "I am Lightning.. and... What is this even? Why are these so interesting?"

Erale is holding a pair of golden cloth shears. The handles have intrace shapes of twisting vines and flowers.

???: "Hmm? Are those yours?"

You - 4 crates
Lark - 5 crate

Looks like you can hammer out two crates per turn now!

Lark: "Feel free to stop once you get to your eighth. I don't think there's enough money to pay you past that!"

Bridge? What bridge?

???: "Just head east of the town, in those woods."

Good enough for directions. You exit the shop and, with the help of some street signs, figure out which way is east and head that way. It doesn't take that long for you to realize that while the town itself is well-lit with lanterns, the surrounding plains are nice and dark, the stars barely peaking through clouds.

Regardless, you head out into the dark, until you stop, because there's a really big river in the way.

You pick up the pair of golden cloth shears. The handles have intrace shapes of twisting vines and flowers, and compared to every other item in the store, looks like it's in pristine condition, almost glowing with new-ness. Or something else.

You walk up and down beside the river, readying the spear to spear a fish.

"Where are you, you bloody fish."

The river doesn't change in the slightest. Not that you can see an inch into the black waters anyways. Something tells you that a fish that has a bounty on it isn't going to be a simple fishing job.
