Having a drone survey Colorado is probably a waste of time and resources. Trying to make it legal to shoot it down is at best stupid and at worst treasonous.

I'm sure as ♥♥♥♥ not wading through the mess you guys made of the 1st page to respond to any of it, and that's honestly all I have to say on it. Also I'll laugh if someone actually does shoot it down and brings half of the FBI down on themselves.

See, I should've made a post like this. Last I recall, federal law is a suggestion for state law, so I don't find it likely, otherwise... Anyways, if they'd like a survey, they can simply do what they do with looking at public data, and finding the odd ones out, or see if there are any strange 6-foot long holes in the ground. People aren't good at hiding things even in the most public data.

Yeah, but you'd be destroying a piece of multi million dollar federal, probably MILITARY, equipment. Even if the state laws say "Oh sure go at it", I'm sure whoever owned the drone will have some strong words for you.

It should be legal to shoot it down if it's violating your privacy.
You have to be able to prove it though, and "it flew vaguely near my house" doesn't fly. That'd almost be like trying to shoot down a 747 just because you spotted it in "your airspace".
It'd have to be flying circles around your house at a low altitude, or something along those lines. Then, personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it. If whoever's spying on you has a legitimate reason they can do an actual police investigation.

Re: Related: Colorado town ponders bounty for shooting drone
why not just do some demographic research on the most purchased long range weapon in the area and strike it's ass down?

In a perfect world, I would have a mirror umbrella to both piss everyone off and hide from flying cameras
