It being a mahou shoujo is fine, but the whole DEEPness aspect just makes it really annoying.
I don't mean DEEP like actual deep, such as Evangelion or Big O; more like the DEEPness in Elfen Lied.

Also the DEEPness of an anime is reconsidered any time someone says "it makes u feels"

Well for one, it's not a law, it's a rule of thumb.
Dragonball is all Journey to the West in this ♥♥♥♥♥, but it's about as deep as a puddle.

FLCL I can see, it looks... trippy and "What the ♥♥♥♥ did I just watch".
But, Yu Yu Hakusho? I'm honestly interested, I read all of it, what was the symbolism in that? Besides the references to King Yamma and the afterlife and all that.
