Re: Sprite Help Thread
This has probably been asked before, but I can't find it.
My sprites keep coming up with the ugly white boxes around them. Why is this? (All the colors they use on on the palette btw)

Re: Sprite Help Thread
It's probably in the wrong format, make sure to save it as 256 colour bitmap if given the opportunity. Also, if you're using Windows 7 paint, that would be the problem, it can't use the right format and won't work.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Yeah, just using the right colours (and only the right colours) isn't enough, CC is really picky about the specific file type/format/whatever.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Don't upload them in a zip file like that. It just makes it so much of a hassle for us to look at them. Find an image hosting site (Ex. http://www.imgur.com, http://www.minus.com) and upload them there and post them here using the image tags.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Once again, stupid beginner question that I can't seem to find on the internet. (I think my googling skills need work ) Whenever I make a new sprite, it crashes saying it can't load the data file. What do I need to change to get CC to accept my sprite? I checked the include .ini bits but I couldn't find anything there. Did I miss something? Help appreciated! Edit: I think the problem MIGHT be that I'm using gimp. The file needs to be saved as a 256 bitmap, right? I'll try messing with the export settings... Double edit: Now I can use my sprites, but the color is totally messed up and they're surrounded by a white outline. I used only the colors on the palette, but it still comes out looking weird.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
So, I recently attempted to resprite 110 different sprite pieces, and spent about an hour on it. When I saved everything, and started CC, The sprites where the same. Any clue what happened?

Did you do anything with file replacement or changing FilePaths?

Re: Sprite Help Thread
You're on. and it's odd. its all saved with the exact same names and everything... okay, so they show up now (WTF?) but facing right, They're invisible, and if they're facing left, they have a crapton of lines, and no color, just lines...No clue.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Your sprite is not in palette, and before you ask what that means, please check the stickies regarding modding. I know it might be kinda misleading that this thread is a help thread and that were all here to help people with their sprite problems (and we do enjoy helping, don't get me wrong) but we meant this as a critique and criticism thread, and if you're ever having a problem with modding/spriting, 9 out of 10 times someone else has had the same or similar problem and asked here on the forums. So do make sure you search about it first before you ask.
