Smiling, you take out your beloved pocket watch, and hold it out to Sera. Her looks at it for a second, and slowly her eyes go wide with wonder as she observes the hands move and the mechanism tick. You make a motion, offering it to her, and she gingerly takes it, examining all over its surface, looking for the source of its strange sounds and creator of the movement.
"Mister?"

...She doesn't even notice you. She's too distracted by that pocketwatch Grif gave her. Well, she said it was on the clouds.
You're not really sure how that works. Clouds definitely aren't solid enough to hold weight, but then again you've got floating islands, so who knows.

Patiently explain the purpose of keeping time to the little girl (Yes, I do realize it's a lost cause) while waiting for plot elements to give us a direction to go in.

Hey, uh, I was listening to the others talk last night. There are a couple things around. Grif mentioned a sword that can cut anything way in the South, James said the bartender lady that decked him had a little dungeon hideaway southwest of town, and someone mentioned some missing trade ships from off to the southeast.
Or we could like, go North, to the Northern Empire.

You give her a rundown on how to read the watch. She picks it up surprising fast. It helps that she understands the 12-hour system your clocks run on.
Speaking of, it's getting late, almost 5, and all you've managed to do so far is acquire a small child.
"Mister! Where're we going? Huh?"

"Nowhere fast, at this rate."

A cure out of nowhere isn't really within your abilities. It'll take a little bit.
You begin by looking properly at it with your magic senses. It looks to be a residual magic imprinted onto your skin that sucks magic out of your body and materializes it as... darkness?
Wait. Really?
This stupid thing drains your magic to make dark splotches on your skin. That's literally all it does, and it's CRIPPLING your ability to use magic.
That's stupid, but brilliant. Luckily for you, it should fade away within, like, a week. Or you could just scrub the ♥♥♥♥ out of your skin you suppose, but that'd hurt.

Game Events: As Sedraxis watches open mouthed, a large shadow quickly descends, then slams into the deck hard enough to make the entire ship tilt.
As everyone on deck struggles to regain their footing, they look over to see something... odd.
It appears to be a giant winged ferret, easily 15 feet long, and its body as thick as a person is tall. Its fur and two pairs of feathered wings are all the same golden-snowy color as Sera's wings, and it looks you over with a calm expression.
Suddenly, words appear in everyone on deck's minds, as the creature speaks in a deep, wise, and somber voice.
I believe there is a small girl on board this vessel.

"James, I was talking to my sword. It is punny. Shut up. Anyways, yes, there is a small girl on-board this vessel, Mr. Winged Ferret Sir, but I'd appreciate it if you'd identify yourself- I can't say I'm fond of basically being invaded by a stranger."
A not unwarranted request. I am a Seeker for the Vanash above. We believed the girl made it down to this plane safely, so I have come to collect her.

The creature slowly turns its head towards James, and stares at him until the awkward tension becomes nearly unbearable.
