Re: War Thunder
Just tried to get into this yesterday. Mouse aim is terrible for me, though. I can't hit anything at all because the plane veers everywhere. What control scheme should I use?

Re: War Thunder
I think I use the "shooter"(?) control for mouse aim, also very low mouse sensitivity - about 10% on the bar.
Unrelated: I'm damn close to tier 19 in the german tree, and after the economy "buff" (price drops) next patch I'll get Me 262!

Re: War Thunder
I'm looking forward to the tanks being added. Here's hoping it doesn't feel like WoT.
Shame they ain't adding navy in first, though.

Re: War Thunder
The tanks won't have the lazy-programmers "hitpoints" so only that will make it better.
It's really wierd they didn't focus on ships first though as there already is a certain f2p tankgame but no shipgame. (I'm glad for it though, ships are boring).

Re: War Thunder
I don't think it's lazy programming, Wargaming just approached it differently I do like Gaijins approach better and I hope it's applied to the tanks But as far as I can see hitpoints in WoT are for "balancing" and so that esports can be made easier
Don't think I'll really care for battleships anyway, distance of engagement just keeps getting bigger, but implemented with tanks and planes it might be interesting

No it really is lazy. Hitpoint have been around since the dawn of time, before games had pysics, and is really easy to use and balance. In a game with pysics though it's just BAD to use hitpoints, it makes no sense, why would you have a shovel deal 10hp damage when you can mesure the force and see what "really" would happen, or if you go the gamey approach (like WoT) why not the the impact force (that is left after amour, trees, other tanks in the way) set the damage to the godawful hitpoints? This is the main selling point for me with WT, if I it a wing on a spitfire with a mk103 cannon it will probably rip it clean off, instead of doing 60hp damage.

Re: War Thunder
Well then they were perfectly fine before the physics update and WG are too lazy to change it

Re: War Thunder
Well, in the early alpha the tanks had no HP either and you had to destroy a couple of modules/crew to kill a tank - but that was to hard for people to understand apparently.

Re: War Thunder
IL-2, Somehow the ultimate aircraft in historical. The cannons deal shittons of damage and have a massive space between them making it easy to hit enemies.
Then there's the fact that you don't need any experience to carry the 4x100kg bombs and eight rockets which you'll use for about ten ground kills easy. games nowadays start with me hunting down the first bomber I can find and pepper it with some 23mm's and then put some ordnance to the ground before another easy target comes along.
