that might not've been drawn, there's a chance it's linocut or something, which would make it a print.

If you're asking how it's done, etching/engraving is the process of printmaking by cutting out relief lines in a piece of wood or metal which will hold ink and be pressed onto paper. Any magazines, newspapers, or catalogues of the 19th/20th centuries usually have a lot of etching artwork. It's hard not to admire the linework and hatching of master printmakers. You can buy a scratchboard at an art store and try it out for yourself.

Those both look nice. You need to stop beating yourself up, your art is Good. With a capital g.
The soldiers neck hips kinda bent in comparison to the torso, but that's about it.
