Weasel, I completely forgot what he did.

Somewhere along the lines he instated an orange skin for Halloween, and everyone hemorrhaged out the eyes, among other things.
He was a pretty idle, and overpowered mod with strange reason to do whatever.

All I can recall is that he at some time, instated a marshal law on the forums or something ridiculous like that.

He tried to make us family-friendly by force, it didn't really work that well. He did try to get us to be friends with him for a bit but he kinda skimmed that process and ended up making himself merely familiar rather than garnering widespread acceptance. Thus when he wanted to make changes we were kinda skeptical and it ended up being too much change in too little of a time.

His job was to administrate, but he had no ability to do so, no intention to do so, and no desire to be here regularly. As a result he came here extremely uncommonly and did nothing to encourage the community whatsoever.

I agree with everything you guys have said but at the same time I think that after his arrival, the community did soften up quite a bit. Whether this was somehow due to his machinations or because he was so unpleasant the community was willing to do anything to see him be gone I don't know. Maybe his unpleasantness was his intention. But whatever the case I don't think pre-weasel DRL would have tolerated some of the regulars we have now.

Completely related, anyone have any good show recommendations? Anime or otherwise? Something laid back, with a little humour and a little drama that for most part doesn't require my full attention to be enjoyed. Thinking of getting back into spriting and I like to have something to watch on the other side of the screen.

K-On seems pretty well suited for that. Haiyore is good too, maybe The World God Only Knows or Haganai as well. Dunno if you've seen any of them already ofcourse, please excuse me if so.
These are ones I enjoyed watching anyways and weren't too heavy on the story. I can never really effectively do both things when having something like a show or movie going on another screen though, it's always one or the other.

I'd say Samurai Jack, but it kind of demands a lot of attention, so... Might not be wholly optimal for that purpose. But still, Samurai Jack. Totally worth watching just for Aku alone.

Boku Wa Tomodachi or Nichijou maybe. Boku Wa is pretty skit-y, and Nichijou does not contain plot and is all lols.

I've seen some of K-On and some of The World God Only Know. I think TWGOK had a really good premise but I feel like they didn't realize capitalize as many episodes didn't focus on actual courting while at the same time not really developing the characters.

I've been meaning to sit down and watch Samurai Jack, but that definitely deserves full attention.

Haganai, Nichijou and Hayore all sound good, I'll see if any of those are dubbed (forgot to mention that I'd need it to be dubbed if I'm looking at my pixels).

Apparently Boku Wa is called Haganai for inscrutiable reasons?

Archer. Utterly hilarious, some of the best comedy writing I've seen in a show. The voicework and lines are just top. Hell, I'm pretty sure you could just listen to it and still have a good time, but the animation helps with the comedy, too.

Ouran High School Host Club. Really good English dub, very silly and lighthearted school comedy. Some romance/drama in the anime but not very much.
