Re: War Thunder
Did it get buffed or something? From what I've heard, it atleast use to be pretty darn bad.

Re: War Thunder
I started playing today. And my god, where has this game been all my life? I think I did pretty good for my third or so battle. We lost, but it was a fun match. I was using the Gloster Gladiator, and boy, can that thing fly.

Re: War Thunder
The British biplanes are nothing compared to the Russians or the Japanese ones. Just wait until you get the Hurricanes. Those things are really fun to fly.

Re: War Thunder
I landed on a carrier in-battle today for the first time, with a damaged Hurricane MkII. The carrier then sunk as I was repairing :c Also the spotlights look so damn awesome. I've started using some other factions other than the Germans, and god the lower tier planes are a blast to fly. Those Russian biplanes just rip things to pieces.

The rockets the Hurricane can carry are bloody annoying if you use them against bombers. They're kinda hard to aim, though.

T_T
Both my tail rudders had been shot out and I managed to almost drag myself back to the runway, thankyouverymuch. Anyway, the Kitty Hawk is still an amazing fighter, even after the patch it can fight toe-to-toe with most other planes in the game, bar jets.

Re: War Thunder
The Kittyhawk is great for surprising unsuspecting enemies. Those six .50-cals can wreck almost anything with a good short-range burst. In turn fights, however, it's easily outclassed by lighter fighters, like Spitfires or german Bf109's.

Re: War Thunder
Random question now that I've been playing more Do the gunner's guns run out of ammo or overheat? I'd find it pretty useful if I can just continuously fire the 20mm from my H6K4, it is the destroyer of worlds Once got 3 kills in a row with it

Re: War Thunder
Yes they do run out of ammo (atleast in HB, no idea of Arcade as I dislike Nyancat-simulators).

Re: War Thunder
They can run out of ammo in arcade, they'll just take eternity to reload. I'm pretty sure the Russian planes' turrets can overheat, too, which is odd. I've not experienced that with any other faction. Also, goddamn these things can take a beating.

Seems like the matchmaker has been ♥♥♥♥ for me. I've been in matches with tier zeroes and twelves at the same time.

Re: War Thunder
This game is fun. Just had a match with the I-15R (used some of my started gold eagles on the training) and got 4 air kills, 1 land kill, and no deaths. #2 on the scoreboard. I actually have the next two planes in the line as well, the I-53 and the Ishak, but the I-53 doesn't have bombs and the Ishak had only rockets. Funnily enough the bombs I did use didn't hit anything. I had both of my wings pretty much shot by the end, so my turns were waaaay slower. My plane was nearly wrecked. Also, it's amazing how much doing a loopdiloop can help. Doing a turn around takes much longer and it's easier to get hit, but looping up is much harder to trail and gets you behind them real fast.

Re: War Thunder
Most insane maneouver I ever did was to fly through the tree line at the top of one of the rice mountains on Rice Paddies, you know, the asian map?
I had lost my left wing. There was a hole one side and out the other. It was a Hurricane MK II, so not that maneuverable in the first place. Then a plane comes along and tries to finish the job. Hits my plane multiple times, so, with no other way to try and save the plane, I decide to make a dash through the trees. Now, the wings on the Hurricane are pretty short so I fly through no problems at all.
The guy behind me had bigger wings and smashed into a tree and went down, letting me limp back to base and land it.
