I was strumming hard on my guitar with it and my grip slip, and the guitar strings fired the pick out and the pick embedded itself it my head.

I usually feel pretty sucky when my pick gets magically sucked into the body of the guitar but now I know it could be worse.

That said I don't think there isn't a sizeable body of valid criticism against Anita Sarkeesian- I watched a pretty good series of videos about it not too long ago, but the negativity piled against her is grossly disproportional and clearly not rooted in that valid criticism. All in all she puts together pretty passable videos and whats more is she's really the only game in town if you want casual and accessible feminism related to popular culture.

also you cant really do anything about behaviors. as in like, players. not easily.
the civil rights movement was pretty shaky in stature, and that was really against grown adults and professional politician dudes. not 14 year old wanks who are too stupid or douchey to just rub one out to a pornstar and instead demand "female gaming sluts" to show them their boobs or whatever. so to really teach these kids to be nice we'd need a huge campaign, and with the way quality parenting seems to be falling off a cliff idk that will really work.

That said though, i agree. The problem is mainly that sexy ladies probably contribute to a huge RISE in sales, especially among young males. I mean, i don't dislike fanservice, that's for sure, but it's pretty goddamn ridiculous sometimes. ESPECIALLY with browser games. I mean have you SEEN those ads? They more or less say "click4nonstopboobage". Boobs are nice, yes, but don't tack them on a turd and tell me to play with the turd. It makes me fear for the future of gaming. She's not against sexism, but for a more favorable representation of women, regardless of whether or not it's liberal, accurate, realistic, or expressing equality. Think like misogyny but backwards, that's what misandrists are. They're what idiots use as strawman arguments for feminists. Sure they masquerade as feminists, but they don't want equal rights, they want to be held up higher.

Sexy ladies also aren't a problem. To a lot of women, it's a major way of expressing yourself. If you don't already know who Sasha Grey is, I'd recommend looking into her history in the industry. Try to put it in perspective. Look at how Solid Snake wears a suggestive skin-tight suit the ENTIRE game, except for a scene where he's completely naked. Isn't it empowering seeing all the manliness? And the way Anita criticizes Bayonetta for being a sexy game directly contradicts her so called "feminist agenda". What she's really doing is putting down female empowerment under her own personal agenda. Bayonetta is an individual, strong, and self sufficient female protaganist, and Anita is an idiot for passing her off because of the "sexy" aspect.

if what youre saying is true, then i put her on a lower standard than i have before. though you have to realize that she did get a lot of hate just based on her sex and most of it was pretty sexually oriented. rape threats, namecalling, w/e. tho i dont know if that really validates her WAR ON ATTRACTIVENESS

she has also gotten hate for her campaign. there was a game about beating her up. and the vocal majority of the hate is just kids, again, who couldnt stand the (unrealistic) thought that games might start having less boobs.
