I've had my Corsair one-shotted by La-5FNs a few times, and that's supposed to be a heavily armoured fighter.

Well it can happen if they are lucky and hits just right (pilot, structural point in the wing..), but most likely it was a burst of a few shells.

Heck, most of the time it's the first actual impact that absolutely blows the plane apart. It could simply be a broken damage model on the Corsair's part, though, since my Hellcat has no such problems.

I might jump ship over to this from World of Tanks, but I've got a question.

What's the flying like? Do you need a controller or joystick to fly properly?

Naw, mouse and keyboard works just fine. In fact, from what I've heard using a joystick actually makes it harder. Don't know about controllers.

Thank god. I'll probably install it in a day or two.

In Arcade the joystick has a disadvantage, but in both Historical and Full Real Battles the mouse is actually a bit worse than the joystick.

The joystick controlls are fixed on the dev server as far as I'm concerned, so middle next week in the update it will be fine. The new economy system though...
Oh oh, and you can change ammo types (like bombs now) then aswell.
Plus a bunch of Damage model fixes (me410 is no longer a paperplane) and Flight model fixes (bye bye OP P-40).

They're also fixing the La-series and the Beaufighter.
Oh, and I hope they've remade the Buffalos ridiculous flight model. I mean, it can outturn the Spitfire Mk2, and at ground level it's as fast as the Hellcat.
EDIT: I don't really see how the Kittyhawk is OP, though. I mean, historically, it WAS a well-armed and sturdy little thing that could out-dive pretty much any plane.
It's not any faster than, say, an upgraded Wildcat, nor does it turn very well. Please, do elaborate, how exactly is it OP?

Well, the Devs certainly though it was OP, I just thought they were immortal. to be fair I have more problems with the redonk turn ratio of the F4U Corsair, out turns a LA-5 easily, and even some biplanes - But that is also fixed.

Also the dev server is open in about 1h to about 12 GTM.

Yeah uh, the problem with the Corsair was the landing flaps abuse. Same deal with the A6M2-N. They can outturn ANYTHING with landing flaps enabled.
And the P-40 isn't immortal, it's just very sturdy. Wikipedia has some information regarding that aspect of the plane.
Gah, I wish I had the time to test the new flight models on the dev server, but alas, homework has happened once again.

And yeah, Germans really got better with this patch. Got my Friedrichs, doing pretty well with them and the Emil.
Still prefer the US trains, though. Gotta love that .50-cal spam.

I'd figured you would like the Germans the most since you are such a grammar-nazi.

But yes, I have the OP-47 and it's awesome. DAKKA DAKKA!
