Bodies are everywhere, a mix of human, chirop, and lupus, corrupted and not corrupted. The burning buildings cast eerie shifting lights across the area and the air sticks of burning flesh and decay.
Nearing the center of the city, you and your allies take a turn around a building and stop. In the large space of the town plaza is a grey-armored figure with a matching greatsword in its right hand. A bright yellow gemstone sits in the crossguard of the weapon, and glowing yellow eyes stare at you from the darkness under the armor's helm.

> You cast Highlander on yourself and the Dragon, and then launch a concentrated fireball at the bat cluster. This time when the fireball strikes, it blows back a large quantity of the creatures with a powerful blast and ignites them.
The Black Dragon uncurls itself out of a ball and stands on its back legs, untouched by the raging fire. Its left wing is missing and there are deep, gaping wounds running along its back, but it shrugs off the injuries and proceeds to shred the remaining bat creatures that still have fight in them.
It's not long before the hallway is filled with scraps of meat and burning flesh from the dragon's frenzied attack. The dragon lets out a titanic roar towards the opposite end of the hallway, creating a deep bass that shakes your bones.

Tell me if there's anything else I can do."Koa brings her knees to her chests and rests her arms on her knees, and then her head on her arms. She already looked small in her armor, and now huddled against the wall without it, she looks tiny.
You stay on guard, watching the closed but damaged door and the destroyed staircase. Occasionally there's a rustle or an animal-like noise in the distance outside, but for the moment, everything seems calm.
A scratching sound where Koa is sitting makes you turn around to see her standing up. A large cut is running down the left side of her face from the brow to the cheek, passing over the undamaged eye.
Koa:
"There are others upstairs."Her voice is shaky, but she looks steady enough to stand.

> Placing Feiar down, you ditch the broken sword for a fresh one, refill your crossbow bolts, and check out the armor. It looks like a couple of brigandines and steel plate cuirasses, gauntlets, helms, and greaves. A few of these are oddly shaped, probably not meant for human use, but there is at least one of each piece that looks human-wearable.
Feiar grabs a small crossbow and a handful of bolts.
