Jk, awesome work, Adriaan, at first I thought it was from the Insurgency mod menu art. You nailed the expression, values, and AK detail (although to me eye it seems to bend slightly near the barrel). It seems you're using a rather low opacity brush for all your rendering making everything kinda mucky. The AK is pretty sharp and crisp but some parts of his attire get blurry and unrefined such as the shoulder and sleeve areas.

You're absolutely right, I did a lot of drawing/erasing on <100% opacity. Gotta start properly blending values instead of relying on opacity, the muddiness is hard to avoid. You're also right about the bendy AK, it's front end wobbles left and right. Probably due to drawing this from a different angle (just sorta started out painting general silhouette instead of checking perspective first) but still half adhering to the ref. Thanks for your critique!

 Re: Art Dump
Got bored and drew this last night as a new desktop background from a reference or two. Originally was the other way horizontally but that basically when my IRC was up covered the right side of the image... well I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out, just cover up the current left side of the image if you don't see it. (large, it's a desktop background for a 1080p monitor.)

I agree, you're getting good at this! c: Also, i decided to try my hand at digital painting once again, so introducing a WIP image of detectosaurus again Still need to refine the shading on the dinosaur itself, as well as actually finish the hat. I'm surprised at how well the pipe turned out, but hey, i ain't complaining.

 Re: Art Dump
i will now be bold enough to consider this dinosaur finished It also qualifies as my first soft-brush painting that doesn't look identical to the biggest turd ever, so that's nice. :U
