> Take the the air for the sake of speed and peer into nearby buildings in the most efficient way possible (if there are windows, use them, if only doors, peek in those, etc.). Return to Koa if I find a safe place, or if there are none in the vicinity, and inform her of the result.

Thanks for saving my ass.

You feel an aura of warmth coming from Whirlwind.

Heading over to the fireball, you find Mist stretching in place nearby. Inside the fire is a charred, black skeleton with Lucida in its right hand. Not much to see of the creature in its current state, so you proceed to use the end of Whirlwind to nudge Lucida away from the flames.

Aucupe bends down to pick up the weapon and frowns.

Aucupe: "The creature took my memories. Lucida's fine though, but he doesn't really have any energy."

Conditions :
- Moderate Bruising (-2 Physical actions)
- Whirlwind Armor (+2 Physical Actions)




(Ragdollmaster)
Gustaf Anorak

> "Looks like they're afraid of the light alright. Warn me if one attacks."

Firebrand's light goes out while you charge it up without visibly notifying the bat creatures. The dragon lets out a quick roar over the screams and you slash out a wave of fire.

3 bat creatures appear in the light and are struck by the fire. One of them backs up and falls out of the building while the other two flail around on the ground, still on fire.

- Mounted on Black Dragon

> You can't do much about your foot, but with some stretching and mental strength, you're able to block out the negative effects of your buising, which is mostly gone anyways.

John comes over to nudge the sword out of the fire using Whirlwind and Aucupe picks it up.

Quickly taking off, you soon realize you can't see very well without Koa's light source. No matter, you inspect buildings nearby, flying around and over them and using your sensitive ears to check for movement. It seems that one not too far seems completely quiet, while all the others you've checked at least had some sort of sound when you flew by. Landing on the ground to check one more building by its closed door, you open it only to have the door slam back closed.

Heading back to Koa, you turn the corner to find the light ball flailing wildly in the air over a mob of five mutated creatures that are attacking something, or someone, on the ground.

"Do you live in Luttiim?"

Feiar: "No, Nullam. But I guess I won't be going back for a while."

You keep on walking. A hole in the layer of clouds appears, briefly allowing some illumination from the moon. You're able to get a grasp of the distance left to the city, which isn't too bad, before the clouds blot out all light again.

Feiar: "I wonder if there'll be a hero to fix all of this like in those stories."

Aucupe: "What I lost originally is what it took, which is pretty much all of my magic. I didn't see it very well, but I think it was a corrupted human mage. Or chirop. I don't know."

The fire starts to spread to the nearby wodden pieces of furniture while you, Aucupe, and Mist quickly climb up the ladder and head outside. It's still dark, but you can see the inside of the armory turning a cherry red and smoke seeping through the roof.

Conditions :
- Moderate Bruising (-2 Physical actions)
- Whirlwind Armor (+2 Physical Actions)

Immediately after, they all split apart near their midsections and fall into a pile. The light hovering above them stops flailing and hovers in place, gently bobbing up and down.
