Well, five days later, the bank transfer and the PayPal go through simultaneously. Awkward.

BohemianEagle's 8.4 preview video

I really don't think I'll play higher than tier 4 with the British TDs, this ♥♥♥♥ is ridiculous
So much for playing the German LTs again
These 'patches' are going from bad to worse

If you want a summary he said the Churchill gun carrier has really weak armour but a pretty good gun
Most of the TDs past 5 I think have at least one of the guns of the heavy from the tier above, though they aren't interchangeable
He didn't care about anything below the Alecto which he barely mentioned aside from the fact it has a howitzer
The AT2 has like 200mm of frontal armour but a piss weak gun obviously horrible speed and turning, the armour just seems to get better

It makes sense, WG is trying to promote British tanks as having high endurance. High armor and low firepower has been recognized as being a British tank trait since they introduced the Churchill III lend lease. Which was a long time ago.

Special promo on the weekend
Churchill III half price, maybe get?
Lots of tanks discounted so I can finally get the T-150 and ARL 44 in one go
Doubt I'll play on the weekend though, don't think I can deal with idiots just playing for uh, 2X Crew experience...

Dammit why did nobody tell me this?
Accuracy is actually shell dispersion not likeliness of hitting or anything like that
I think this whole time I've been getting the guns with the big numbers and then wondering why everyone says they're not accurate

2 good games in the almost stock ARL 44? What is this?
Still considering converting my free XP to use on it for the next turret, but if I can get a few more good games on my first victory bonus all will be well

Get the Church III. If you have the gold to 100% the crew, consider that as well. I run with a shell rammer, vents, and spall liner (to better protect against arty, also helps with the odd ramming), but if the spall liner isn't your thing consider a gun laying drive. The recoil from your insane fire rate will actually outpace your fire rate and make you miss long range targets unless you take your time. Also I just got the vents to max out my fire rate even more. I paid 600k for a 0.01 second reload speed increase. I am hardcore.

Just a pic of my current Church setup, if you wanted to see.

I suppose I'll give in to temptation, it's hardly much at all, not sure what I'll get rid of to make room for it, can't really be bothered buying a new slot
I definitely won't use gold to increase their skill, maybe just up them to 75% with credits
Bought the Wespe because I could so I might just get rid of that, not getting rid of my precious Valentine because it's just too much fun

Always a dilemma because why spend money on a full-priced slot when you could sell a tank and just use that slot, then buy a new slot when it's cheaper

Hey everyone, in 8.4 they're increasing the price of British 83mm High-Explosive HE Mk. 3. Here's a post about it.
Quote:
Old cost: 85
New cost according to patch notes: 260
New buy-back price: 50% of 260 = 130
Profit per shell: 45

That means each 10,000 shells bought for 850,000 gets you 450,000 profit once you sell them post-patch. I'd prolly wait until the patch comes into the RU server to confirm that, but it looks solid right now.

I'll probably run vents, shell rammer and gun laying drive, which is what Pho runs as well
I might get the spall liner instead of the vents if I need to
But so far, lots of exp and credits for little effort, although I almost got trashed by a T1, other T5 heavies are not good

Oh I finally joined a clan, or at least applied for one
It's one of the EU Reddit clans, not exactly like I can guarantee good players, but it'll be nice to platoon with people

Goddammit
8.4 tomorrow
I wasn't ready for this, I have to back up my files or make videos of my replays, replace files I changed in the base files and maybe buy a bunch of those shells which are going to cost more

FYI, they "fixed" the shell thing, so don't buy any. If you do, you'll just get a bunch of HE shells in your garage and a 100% reimbursement.

You guys were right
The Churchill III is pretty good
Image
I'm permanently stocking up on med kits and repair kits after my gunner died, the gun was damaged and the turret ring was damaged
I was left on 23 health by the end with just a T-46 plinking at me with his derp

Medkits and repairs are essential gear for most tanks but ESPECIALLY the church III.

It can take a beating, but you might lose a few modules in the process.
