As someone who has played with both n64 and gamecube, ♥♥♥♥ you n64 controllers are retarded
As someone who's used the N64 controller to play OoT in the past week, I can confirm this.
But, you guys fail to realize the N64 was a strong console considering it was released in the arcade ages. Moving hands from one area to the next just so you could unleash a whole new fury of asskicking was a thing people never thought about, but enjoyed.
tl;dr Golden Ages.
The Nintendo 64 was great for its underwhelming amount of exclusive games, which were mostly all great. The Playstation X had more graphical capabilities, data capacity for games (which is why the Final Fantasy series switched to Sony), and a larger amount of games. Not all amazing exclusives, but a significant amount of them. It wasn't from the arcade ages, the Atari 2600 was from the arcade ages.
In Sony vs Nintendo in terms of controllers, Nintendo is more innovative, and Sony is more comfy.

Re: The Lounge
I've run out of reasons to buy any non-Nintendo console to be honest, they're just weak PCs with exclusive games and I can live without those The only reason I'd play a home console over a PC is if it actually had some impact on the game itself, which Nintendo is obviously best at
They just need to convince their third parties to get it right too

Never forget Ninjabreadman. Third party devs should never release Ninjabreadman-like Wii games. The developers were rumored to have just re-skinned the game and re-releasing it as Anubis II, and Rock n Roll Adventures.

If they can manage to make it good without making the die huge, more power to em, but I remain skeptical.

I like Nintendo, they're basically the only big company that still does anything which can be considered base-line innovative with consoles. (Move and Kinect are cool too, but Move is basically a less-successful wiimote and Kinect is a little under-used atm)

Better angle of the PS4 controller. Reveals inverted/concave triggers/shoulder buttons as well as what looks like an etched plastic or perhaps rubber rear to increase grip. Also, kind of eyeballing it, but pretty sure the d-pad and face buttons have been raised a little, too, might help with responsiveness.

I had a friend who would try to break controllers in rage. He also got mad when I beat him at games.

If they got rid of the touchpad and share button, and made it wired, I'd absolutely love it. It looks pretty great aside from those silly features.

I watched this instead of the actual announcement. Surprisingly informative. Also, a share button? Really? What?

The touch pad isn't in the way, and would make internet browsing much easier, one would think.

Because the share button is huge and intrusive and it'll interfere with regular gaming? Same goes with the touchpad. Tons of people (not me personally) that make up a decently large demographic of the consumer base would absolutely love the ability to have integrated screenshot and video capture sharing on console.
In other words, the inclusion of these features does not interfere with the other features and adds additional functions that will be used by a significant amount of users. Ergo, they're objectively good additions.
Wireless is the standard for every single console, and it makes sense. Why bother with cables? Wireless allows for any number of people to play simultaneously without a hydra of tangled wires, and it allows play at any reasonable distance. Even besides this, just like the PS3 controller, the PS4 controller has a micro-USB port at the top to allow you to connect it to the console for charging- so if, for whatever reason, you really hate not having an wire getting in your way, you can keep it plugged in 24/7. Same experience.

Re: The Lounge
So I got all the stuff for my new computer finally. (PSU took a few days extra to ship), and got set up to put it together. Take DvD drive out of old computer, it was still good. Make sure I have all the new parts accounted for, consult spare parts drawer for any extra wires needed, open box for new case. Pull out new case. Notice crater in the side of the thick metal case engineered to contain a bottom mounted fan, a back mounted fan, and a top mounted fan, thusly having thicker metal than normal and being huge. (taller for the bottom fan and wider for the top and side fan) Wonder "How the ♥♥♥♥ did that get there?", examine the box of the case. Notice ~5 inch wide extremely narrow hole in the side of the box, look at huge dent, look at stepfather standing across cleared off desk from me. Sigh, and say "Forklift".
I have the shittiest luck with computers, always. Gotta take the case back to the store tomorrow and get another, I at least confirmed it's the right size and I'll never have to deal with overheating again. At least it wasn't one of the parts that was shipped.
tl;dr Forklift ♥♥♥♥ up case and it went unnoticed, I managed to select that one box, I always have bad luck with computers, problem not too bad.

Re: The Lounge
Ok so today in gym when we were getting dressed the teacher came out of his office real quick and started yelling "WHO SAID THAT? WHO JUST SAID THAT? IT WAS SOMEONE IN THIS AISLE." (not ours) Now me and my aislemates are thinking "What the ♥♥♥♥??" and then he comes to our aisle and says "Any of you know who said it?" And we're like "No, what happened?" And then he yells to the entire lockerroom "WHO YELLED ♥♥♥♥ THR TEACHER?" He actually said ♥♥♥♥. Everyone was like ODAM and I had a shitty "did that just ♥♥♥♥ happen" grin on for like 2 minutes straight. They eventually blamed some black kid. I still can't believe he said ♥♥♥♥. Oh did I mention he's running for principal. Haha.
