Game cube controller is best controller

As someone who has played with both n64 and gamecube, ♥♥♥♥ you n64 controllers are retarded

Though you've gotta admit, the gamecube had a great controller. The buttons were all different shapes so they were even easier to differentiate. Made it easier when I was a kid and had even worse coordination then I do now.

Maybe this gen I'll buy a console. Probably a PS4 since they're going to have lots of great exclusives and minimal shovelware. (most likely)
PC parts come first. Then PS4. Then 3DS.

So a basic summary of PS4 conference:
  • inFamous: Second Son: Perhaps I'm prejudiced as a fan of the first two games but I am really looking forward to this, Sucker Punch have got the superhero genre down pat and I can't wait for more from them

Calling it right now.
When Microsoft has their press conference, they're just gonna be like "Uh, yeah, we're just gonna... have a normal console. Like before."
And I will applaud them.
I'd love for you to put money on that bet because no, they won't. There is not the slightest chance in hell that they'll do that. They're going to push Kinect like crazy, tout how you can look at your gamerscore using a Windows Phone while you play XBLA minigames on it, reveal a brilliant DRM measure requiring a constant internet connection to play any game, show their new achievements icons, and reemphasize that on Xbox you get Call of Duty map packs earlier than other platforms.

As someone who's used the N64 controller to play OoT in the past week, I can confirm this.

Dualshock 4 looks amazing.

Looks like they fixed the shitty thumbsticks too.

But, you guys fail to realize the N64 was a strong console considering it was released in the arcade ages.
Moving hands from one area to the next just so you could unleash a whole new fury of asskicking was a thing people never thought about, but enjoyed.

tl;dr
Golden Ages.

Nostalgia glasses clouds all.

I'm just gonna go ahead and proclaim the Dualshock 4 the best controller yet. Just because it's a DS3 with concave thumbstick pads.

DVI = Fantastic HD display quality
HDMI = DVI + audio

Actually DVI does audio too, but depends on the cable. There's a bunch of different DVI's.

Resurrecting the PS4 shenanigans: I really really hope they're just saying things with the GPU and CPU being on the same die (the microprocessor part of the chip). This works for already-small dies like on phones and whatnot but this is what killed them last time with the cell processor. The die was too large and combined with their less-than-amazing production environment they had something like 10-20% yields or worse, meaning they had to simply throw away 80+% of their PS3 cores (think that's enough emphasis?). This was the major reason PS3's were so expensive, for every PS3 they successfully manufactured, they paid for 9 more they lost to production flaws. Furthermore, we have main CPUs with GPU on-chip (called integrated graphics, mainly from Intel), but they're shitty graphics. I don't see how Sony could think this would be a good idea, no matter how you look at it.

RAM: I also really really hope they're just saying they're doing x86 when they really mean they're doing x86-64, aka x64. Otherwise, four of those 8 GB will be simply wasted. You can't address 8GB of memory without 64 bits of addressing space unless they do something dumb with addressing modes or extra hardware, which just makes the whole endeavor incredibly dumb, especially since most games could easily be compiled to x64 (an architecture that has been out for literally a decade) with minor changes.

Also controller is dum looking, touchpad is in an awkward place, the rest is pretty standard.

@Urch/HKU I was kidding about the Gamecube/N64 controllers, ♥♥♥♥ those things. Give me a Dualshock any day.

@Duh I don't care much for the touchpad, but I think structurally it looks pretty nice. As for hardware, I suppose we'll have to wait for more details, but at the moment I'm hopeful because it looks like Sony have moved on from trying to do unique things like Cell and are just basically making a PC, which would be nice for developers, too.

Oh, the N64 was a damn terrific console, had so many good games. But when it physically hurts to use the joystick for five minutes...

Speaking of the possibly integrated GPU, I was talking to a guy who said about the Xbox 360 Slim's new integrated GPU
It made cooling better, made it quieter
So maybe it'll be alright

But for the levels of graphics of the PS4 I don't foresee an integrated chip being the best, otherwise everyone would be running it

But integrated chips are just as good as seperate chips if they're on equal footing.

The reason most people don't use integrated solutions in their expensive desktops is that ♥♥♥♥ buying new CPU+GPU every time you want something new.

Consoles aren't getting architectural changes anyways, so it's not that a big a deal to them.

That's pretty much the only reason.
