The sun fully sets and the landscape plummets into darkness. You can't see Gustaf at all, but you're pretty sure he went towards the city's center and head off.

Ettiin: : "Hey! Where are you going!?"

You trek on alone, making wonderful progress away from whoever those guys are. After several minutes of walking through a grassy plain, you bump into a building or something. There are shuffling sounds coming from inside.

> You walk towards the center of the armory and Mist appears out of the darkness, following behind you along with Aucupe. Slinging Whirlwind on your back and grabbing a long pole of wood that looks like it used to have a halberd on the end, you note the rows and rows of shelves in front of you. Looks like you've got some work to do.

Depending on how things go, we may end up lighting this whole armory on fire to kill this beasty. Wondering if Lucida could survive that. I know it can use some kind of Dark magic though...

Whirlwind: "Lucida would survive, yes."

Taking a step into the shelves, a light flares out ahead and blinds you, and an explosion sends you flying into the wall way behind you.

As your vision clears, you see that the spot where you were standing ahead is a smoking, glowing crater, with Mist lying not too far away from it. Holding your hands up, what's left of your wooden pole is a pile of ashes spilling out of your hand, and your fireball spell has dissipated. The front of Whirlwind Armor is also noticeably glowing, but quickly cooling back to normal temperature.

Whirlwind: "Um, yeah. Watch out?"

Aucupe isn't in sight. Not that you can see very well without your fireball, anyways.

Conditions :
- Moderate Bruising (-3 Physical actions)
- Whirlwind Armor (+2 Physical Actions)




(Ragdollmaster)

Total darkness hits, and you can feel the dragon descending slowly and gliding back towards the center of the city at an easy pace. Then, Echo Helm picks up a signal somewhere far off, a sound wave that normally only the helm uses. The area below momentarily is displayed to you through the helm, showing shapes scurrying into the array of buildings. Aiming Echo Helm's vision towards the city again, you briefly spot a winged shape hanging in the air far off, in the same direction that the sound wave came from. The echo dies off, and darkness takes hold again.

> You follow John as he heads towards the edge of the array of shelves that make up the middle of the room. Suddenly, there's a blinding flash of light and a deafening boom, and what feels like a wall of iron slams into you, slamming you back and dropping you onto the floor.

Looking up painfully, you see that there's a large, glowing crater where John was standing. Aucupe isn't anywhere in sight.

Conditions :
- Cut Left Foot (-2 Left Foot actions)
- Bruising (-2 Physical actions)

> "Deiimor, Kyros."

With the sun now set, the cloudy sky above casts a blinding shadow on the landscape. You can barely make out the silhouettes of everyone, but you notice Cihas walking off on his own towards the city's center.

Ettiin: "Hey! Where are you going!?"

Both your group and Ettiin's stand there for several seconds, waiting to see if the out-of-sight human would return, but he doesn't.

Ettiin: "I guess it's two pairs and a loner. We'll try to meet up at the city's capital building, good luck."

You hear Ettiin and Hakua head off, and then nod to Koa... Not that she can see you very well anyways.

Kyros: "The southern route is ours, then."
Koa: "Mmm."

Taking the lead, you head towards the city in a south-west direction with Koa right on your heels to keep from being lost.

For a while, it seems like you're just walking on an endless grassy plain, but eventually your feet hit a stone road. From the sound of your foot striking the surface, you can tell that there are structures right in front of you.

Something else moves in the darkness ahead, and both you and Koa freeze.

> Though everything is pitch-black now, you successfully climb up the makeshift rope and pull yourself onto a cobblestone ground.

Feiar: "There are things everywhere!"

Not everywhere, but on one half of the world of darkness, you can make out movement and odd vocalizations not too far away.

It doesn't sound like there's anyone talking, just random shuffling and strange gurgling and breathing sounds.

Then, a loud shrieking sound screams from far ahead in the sky, followed shortly by another.

Whatever is in the building is now deathly silent, along with everything else around you.

> You swing Whirlwind horizantally at waist height and despite the pain, you're able to launch a blade of air soaring towards the crater. You can no longer see, but you can hear the wooden selves being torn apart by the air blade.

There's a brief flash of light, where you can see a white armored figure standing right in front of the razor wind, but it vanishes with the light.

Conditions :
- Moderate Bruising (-3 Physical actions)
- Whirlwind Armor (+2 Physical Actions)

You feel the dragon's anger, and it beats its wings hard to gain altitude. Echo Helm picks up a loud screeching sound that deafens you, and the entire world lights up in an image of static and noise. Not too far in front of you is a massive bat-like beast flying towards you and the dragon, rising in altitude as it gets closer.

The world fades to blackness, and then the high-pitch screach blares out again, and the dragon swoops down low while a clawed limb passes over your head. The dragon drops quickly before snapping its wings back open and swooping upward, causing your stomach to go queazy.

Flying quickly forward, the dragon makes quick side to side darts, avoiding the sound of another pair of wings above and behind.

Conditions :
- Mounted on Black Dragon

> You crawl away from the crater as something whizzes over your head and slices apart wooden furniture. There's a flash of light somewhere in the room, but it isn't enough to light your surroundings.

> You silently draw your sword and whisper to Koa:

Somewhere far off, you hear a high-pitched screech, almost like a scream. Immediately after, there's frenzied movement all around you, large unseen things running around. Something large bumps into you, and you can hear its raggid breath huffing and puffing, sounds of doors opening and slamming and things moving through them, and then silence.

Another scream pierces the night, and then total silence.

Koa: "Not likely."

You grab Feiar and run in the opposite direction of the noises. Thankfully, none of the seem to follow you, and after a bit of running you can no longer hear them. You're on some sort of stone road still, and from the echos of your footsteps, you can tell that there's some massive structure right in front of you. There isn't a single star to be seen in the night sky, leaving the night to be an unwavering blanket of black.
