 Re: Art Dump
That's pretty neat looking, you're rather good at this half-pixel-art stuff. On another note, my old computer broke so I had to set up the new one for art, since this computer sucks I'm basically restricted to MyPaint for heavy work and GIMP for minor edits. That being said, here's some little terrible doodlings I did while checking pressure sensitivity, getting MyPaint set up, and getting used to the smaller screen size for my tablet. They're both based off of a tabletop RPG called Shadowrun(playing via IRC and a program called Chummer with some friends), the first is a quick sketch of my character, (2.45m tall, 340kg troll that wears riot armor and wields a claymore as his main weapon) second one is of a generic Lone Star (security company in the game's lore) SWAT officer with a shittily drawn pistol and poorly positioned shield/arm. No I'm serious these are terrible. Just letting you guys know that I'm still drawing stuff no matter how much mental anguish that fact inflicts. =p

 Re: Art Dump
Yet another bow. This one was a bit more complex to make, it's design is based off of Hun composite bows (My cat Monster studying it carefully). As you can see the ends are not PVC, they are oakwood pieces I carved and joined to the pipe. Its still far from finished but this is the rough final shape. Definitely the most difficult one I've made yet, I spent 2 days on the tillering alone, trying to get the limbs to bend equally (which they don't).

 Re: Art Dump
Finished bow I think it pulls around 50lbs@28-30", pretty smooth and actually seems to be lighter at full draw, sorta like a compound bow.

 Re: Art Dump
Thanks, and yes, the real test will be the first few days of shooting, if no weak spots form, then I think it will last a good long time.

I hope you use the fat arrows without points for testing. Real Arrows go further than normal :L

Okie dokie here he is, from 2010 to 2013. Keeping in mind to vary my line thickness as per the previous advice, I have attempted to do so for some smaller details. not so sure it they're varied enough though.

 Re: Art Dump
I think the main thing might be to thicken the outline and thin the lines within. Also, if you're going for realism, the head might be a little big. Other than that, that's real nice! The perspective/foreshortening is nice, and I can really appreciate the hands, I still have huge difficulty trying to get them to make sense when drawing them without references.

 Re: Art Dump
I dunno, I kinda like the thick lines. It makes it look styled. Also, that soldier got younger.
