Anyone else here excited for Dead Space 3?

Despite all of the typical rumors and complaints about how it's "nothing like the first Dead Space". So far from what I've seen, it looks even better than the previous two.

I don't know. I don't like Dead Space 2's departure, and how it pretty much went RE5 mode and made everything easier.

Dead Space 3? It's going to be a straight console port, which outright killed it for me.
And the snow looks ♥♥♥♥ dumb.

Dead Space 3 looks a lot more actiony than the other games, and that kinda gets rid of the horror aspect doesn't it? (Except the original Uncharted is an action game and those mutants scared the hell out of me, so I dunno...)

I'm pretty sure they decided to change from an actual horror game to a horror action game in DS2
Which is good because it's hard to design anything actually scary without resorting to jump scares when you have a gun to rely on

It's not the horror game that I enjoyed anymore, too many assault rifles, grenades
I understand that they're not on a mining ship anymore with no military but, it's silly

The first game had the raddest assault rifle, I miss the old alt-fire for it.

You should have a title called, "The shitty critic."

You're saying you won't play this game because the company is making an opportunity for other people to play these games and gain finance from it. Seriously dude. MLP is calling you. Better go back to your friendship.

Did people actually think the first DS was that scary?

I hardly ever found it like creepy scary with jump scares (Except the cinematic after the credits, that scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me) but more of a thrilling scary with tense "oshit" moments, the next two games just seemed to capitalize on the thrilling part is all.

I agree with the whole 'being alone' thing fading away though, that added quite a lot to the atmosphere of the first game. Going into Co-op just has it walking backwards now.

But all in all, I don't see why there's so much of a hatewagon on it now. The game still looks clearly enjoyable especially now that they added firefights too. I remember playing the second and thinking "How cool would it be to fight against the EDF?" while I was held up by a wall of EDF troops inside the Marker chamber vault, but then I'm probably just gonna be told to go play RE or GoW but I'm sure we all have a small desire of role play in us.

I'm still gonna play it with the same attitude I had when I started DS2, despite what everyone says.

If the quality of the port is going to be anything like the first two games, it's gonna have input lag, mouse acceleration and locked low fov (which gives me a headache after a few minutes).
So yeah. I'm probably gonna try it, but my expectations aren't very high.

i wonder what would happen if they gave the player a really shitty gun or some decently powerful gun with ridiculously low ammo

I suppose that wouldn't be a gun to rely on, though. Just something to make you feel how useless and futile your struggle against the necromorphs is. :U
I mean really, if they really went for an all-out horror game, they'd probably not give you a gun at all. I mean, the point is that you have to fear confronting the monsters, and as i typically like to say, being able to blow the monsters' faces off with a shotgun tends to make them less scary. If you have a gun that could kill like one or two monsters in a pinch, but subsequently run out of ammo (or just be useless against bigger monsters), then that'd be a possible compromise.

I never actually played Dead Space myself (do not want horror games), but i'm intrigued by the notion of co-op gameplay in this third installment. It's probably not going to be that horrifying though, not if you're playing as TWO badasses against one horde of... Things. For all i know though, that might be intentional, and they may have thought of it already. Here's hoping it won't be a terrible port (LOOKING AT YOU, DARK SOULS)!

Just finished Binary Domain, was a strange journey. Some parts were really good, others weren't. The combat felt good, the destruction looks super nice. The story has one ENORMOUS thing in it's favour and that's the question it asks you: "What is truly human?"
It left me with a shitton of questions, most of which could be solved by a second play through, and I suggest not reading another word if you don't want spoilers.

Because this is a squad based shooter, a la mass effect, where you can bring two squad members at a time(the game disregards this in a few cases, giving you up to four.) and at one point I picked Faye and Cain. Faye is a gorgeous Chinese sniper and Cain is a robot, making them the two most interesting characters in the game, with Charly, the Englishman, being a close third. Anyway, I'm not sure if this is due to my choice or not, but Faye and Cain turned out to be the two most important characters when it comes to things that happen to them. Cain gets killed at some point, which later turned out to be to prove a point. But Faye is where it gets interesting, she is shot in a mission. A mission where to the best of my knowledge you aren't forced to take her along. You patch her up and bla bla love plot twist etc. The later she turns out to be a hybrid of human and robot and becomes the enemy and I'm still wondering whether this is because I made a choice or because this wasn't meant to happen.
They played their cards nicely.

Also gameplay is good, Rust crew is the lamest name ever and the dumb american card is played so often it became boring.

@shook:
The second player is delusional, so you'll certainly have some interesting scenarios in coop.

About the Dead Space co-op thing, it's really two campaigns. There's a storyline with two players and a storyline with just one person.

So I've started to play the Sims 3 with all the expansion packs.

And I can sum up my experience so far with a single screenshot.
