you guys remember when weegee made a bad mod? me neither

When I restart the activity to go back to the faction select(using ctrl+r),the game crashes pretty much every time.
Why?

Never noticed it with vanilla mods so you need to disable mods one by one and find out who's guilty. It can happen when some lua-script calls OnDestroy when activity was ended and tries to change some objects of destroyed activity, like Actors collection.

When looking in the faction directory, there are presets for both "Crobo" and "Crobotech". Both come out as the same faction in game, anyone kno which is better/should I use?

Abbhorsen, just try both, I guess Crobotech should work.
