Re: Art Dump
I like the first one better, mostly because the cool tones seem calmer/earlier in the day, and days ending depresses me.

Re: Art Dump
Try making the photo compliment the edits and set the theme to a cool blue/green thing. It would make sense since that's the basic color scheme of the unedited version anyway.

Re: Art Dump
Can I request a realistic looking brofist? It's gotta be 200 x 500. Also, I drew this. I thought it was cool.

Not really a serious drawing here, just scribbled it up after several hours of Dark Souls.

Re: Art Dump
I got a stabby-stabby the other day, Green River paring blade, curly maple scales. and the work done so far; Gun blued the blade and carved out the handle profile, currently whittling the handle into shape, then I will stain it, rivet it to the blade and finish it with linseed oil. will update with the finished product.

Re: Art Dump
Thanks Bombzero. Hopefully the stain I'm going to apply will really bring out the grain of the maple which can potentially look really good. I guess I'll drop in a sketch since I posted

When I get back to the states, I'll be building a forge and making a bearded axe. We'll se how that comes out, but if you made that blade yourself, then I'd like to hear how. I am not so good with forging, having never done it from scratch before. Yes, the blade and wood was purchased online, I only added the gun-blue stain. I'm no blacksmith...yet... Anyway, knife update, handle rounded, stained, and riveted You may notice the rivet holes are somewhat roughly gouged, this is because I did not have the proper tool for countersinking the rivet head into the wood so I had to improvise with a chisel.

If I had to criticise something, I'd say the shading on the bottom of the hat could be done differently. While the pattern is nice, I think the uniformity or ratio (horizontal to vertical) of it's lines don't imply curvature/perspective over that surface.

Re: Art Dump
@Mackerel, nice, would make a good desktop background. Also I perceive a person in that, I'm presuming you modified an existing image?
@madmax, has a real nice rustic look, woodworking was never my strongsuit, more a metal person. Wish I still had some of the blades I made but a ~5 foot claymore, ~3 foot broadsword, and various small daggers aren't exactly on the list of things I'm legally supposed to have in my possession, barring certain types of purpose-licenses you can get here for blades, (artistic, historic, etc etc but that requires registering them and all that bull♥♥♥♥) So I had to get rid of them when we moved to the new place... I miss living in an actual house only because you can't really do metalworking in an apartment complex.
