I'm saying that in this case, if the story were Frankie was raped 100 times instead of she's a heavily autistic mental shut-in, then I wouldn't have felt as sad after reading that.

Not to mention, there are different kinds of sad too. Emotion is complicated. I agree with HK that the comic would have an entirely different kind of feel to it if Frankie had been raped etc, it would be more of horror-sad mix.
