Today I colored and shaded a sketch I made like.... a week ago.
Sword hilt's a little botched due to a mistake in the linework that I hastily fixed, but I feel like it came out ok overall.

The middle finger looks a tad thin and the ring finger's first vertex looks a bit too acute of an angle. Notice how I used "tad" and "bit" because that hand is goddamn sexy.
Thanks! I know what you mean, try to do that gesture though. It's hard to line up your middle finger with your index, without pulling your ring finger into an extreme angle like that (for me at least). Agree that it looks odd on first sight though.
Studies for today, ♥♥♥♥ up my tablet or pen sensitivity somehow (maybe I've dropped the pen one too many times) right when I was about done with the linework, so I didn't get to shading. Hope I can figure out the problem tomorrow...

Depending on brand unplugging and replugging it repeatedly should work fine.

Here, I actually tried to draw a thing. I will explain what it is if I ever decide to color it.
Admittedly pathetic attempt at coloring. Might try again later.
It's a cicaran Lich. Cicarans being these bug-people things of mine. Liches in cicaran culture are highly revered as the normal lifespan of a cicaran is quite short, and a lich has had many more years to learn and study the world than any 'living' member of their race. The cicarans are also artificers. This particular lich has modified his limbs to be more useful for performing her common activities. Most cicaran mages, young or old, are relatively powerful in the area of telekinesis, and so a mage as old as this one would have no need for hands/arms. That set of tendrils would likely be enough to manipulate any objects he needs to, and if it wasn't she can always just use his head.
I'm still depressed with my drawing level

Colouring is not bad at all, just work a bit more on the shading/lighting I think
Finished yesterday's, pen is working again (opened it up, tightened the pressure thingies in which the nibs sit)
Shading on the bottom one was hard, not quite happy with it. Ref had light coming outward from the camera, so not a lot of shadow area.
comrade shook play nitpicky critic to artist who is several orders of magnitude above himself
First hand seems rather fat (could be that the reference hand IS fat, hell if i know), what with those skin rolls near the thumb and highly pronounced folds on the palm. The pose and shading are both magnificent, though!
The only thing i can spot about the second one is that the thumb looks a bit odd, as if that joint line on the middle is missing. It also narrows at the middle, whereas even my skinny thumbs are thickest at the middle. Also, the index finger is missing that joint line near the top, but that's a minor detail. The rest is absolutely stellar, i envy your hand drawing skills. :c

the hell you say
You ain't got nothing to be depressed about, broholmes! The lighting effects are good, the concept's rad and... Well, i like that rough style. Add a bit more (sun)light to the mix, and you're good to go! (captain optimism is what they called me, but i am not sugarcoating it, i really do like it) And, of course, there's nothing that can't be improved with more practice. I mean, if i can improve (a bit), then so can anyone else, because i'm a ridiculously slow learner when it comes to art. It feels like that, anyways.

Did this one a while ago. One of my prized accomplishments.
It's called Dolphin Blue.

If you were talking to me, go ahead. If you were talking to Mackerel and want a fractal avatar for whatever reason, I have no authority to grant you permission to use it but I'd say do it anyway.
I actually thought it was a photo of a bunch of falling sparks shot with a high-exposure camera.
@Adriaan: Liking the hands on that last page, impressive studies. I was going to say that if you're doing those as practice you might consider ditching the nice smooth shading and stick to line art so you can pump out more at a greater pace. I saw Shook mention some of the hands look a little chunky, I just think the fingers of those last two look a bit too round could just be me. Last hand's thumb looks on the short side and too round, when viewed directly the thumb has a rounded spear shape to it, and is often in the shape of a 'J' when viewed in profile.
Keep it up. If you can tackle the head and facial features as well as you can do hands, the rest of the body will be a piece of cake.

Re: Art Dump
Great colours on that one Metal Chao
Thanks so much for all the advice! I did today/yesterday's (been up waay too long) in linework only, got a bunch of them out in good time. Also spot on with what you pointed out Shook and Madmax. While the top hand was a little chubby on the ref too, too round shapes and the shading in brought it out too much in places.
And did this between watching some K-On eps
Needs more happy face.

I too can make shitty art with numbers.
I call this one: fractal art is for gentlemen. And this one: no skill
