Bionicles, huh? I used to be a master collector of those. I had EVERY SINGLE set in mint condition, and the containers for them, every one from the beginning they made them in 2001 or so, to the day they stopped making them. I will post pics soon when I find them.

Re: The Lounge
I used to play that home brew turn based LEGO game with my friends and we'd make sweet mechs out Bionicle parts. I really should get back into that.
Oh yeah Bionicle is awesome. I have a bunch of the early comics that came free with the Lego magazine or whatever, though I don't have any toys past the first movie where they smash the bad guy and then we enter the big flashback part. I dunno if I'd still think so now but I used think that their lore was legitimately the coolest thing ever.
I also got a bunch of Technic guys, like disc throwers and motorcycle guys and all sorts of stuff.
Azukki: I see what you're saying about Lego/K'nex but to do a lot of the intricate mechanical stuff you need just tonnes of specialty pieces they wouldn't usually sell in Lego sets. I have half my weight in Legos but I don't think anywhere in there do I have enough pieces for one single functional projectile launcher of the kind I make with K'nex. K'nex is just a lot easier for this kind of stuff and the pieces snap together a lot harder so they can withstand strain more easily.

Re: The Lounge
I had a few bionicles and a giant box full of lego. I've also made some technic lego thingies, like a big go-kart which you can steer. A Formula 1 car too, I think. I think they've been given away by my mother, though. She has a shitton of relatives.

Re: The Lounge
I liked building the early bionicles. The newer ones are dumbed down with special parts if I remember correctly.

Re: The Lounge
K'nex? Lego?
Where is the god that is Meccano?
That thing has a steam engine. That boils water to allow the train to move. No electrical components. My grand father had a ton of set's before, including the crane, but I don't know where they are now.
That is made out of metal. Better than plastic
And that is what the pros can do.

Re: The Lounge
Man, bionicles and most lego sets from that period sucked ass compared to the older lego. In recent years they've started making a lot better stuff though from the looks of it, but I've moved on from it now. Have boxes full of categorized (colour/theme etc) lego standing in the attic, I used to build with it all the time.
Acquired food poisoning yesterday. Absolutely horrible night. It's better now, but still not good. The fact that i didn't get to bed before 6 in the morning for some erratic sleep doesn't help. I hope this ♥♥♥♥ passes soon. :c
