Re: CC should now be updated on steam
personally i'm getting errors. more spacificly Code: ERROR: no overload of 'SceneManager;ShortestDistance' matched the arguments (SceneManager, nil, nil, boolean) candidates are: SceanManager:ShortestDistance9Vector, Vector, boolean)
anyone else getting this? EDIT: did fresh install, seams to have removed errors, so now begins the fun process of working out which mod the error came from.

The Go X2 Window setting works for me now! Have not played with it past that yet though.

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
so general thoughts. well on the modding side of things(as someone who doesen't mod but does try to keep other works up to date) the separation of the AI form the main LUA code is wonderfully useful as it means moders dont need to update their units lua each time there's an AI update. the new frag nailer is a great addition to the dummy faction which where missing a fairly cheap med range damage dealer. the brown coat's now have a lock on missile launcher and the dummy's impulse launcher is now effective again.
the new breach scene is a welcome adition and i am yet to try wave defense.
i may have missed something.

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
I know there's probably info on this somewhere, but - how do I download the latest version without using steam?

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
Has the AI segregation now made it so that all mods need to be updated again? Or is it actually increasing backward compatibility

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
Any mod with custom lua will be more backwards compatible than before once they have received an update, a fairly simple one if you can tell the differences between the old AI in the lua and the modder's own scripting. That is however easier said than done.
All mods that simply call the human ai as their lua file need no change.
in the long run this update is good and increase backwards comparability for mods made after the update. For the immediate future however most mods will lag until they are patched by their creators or, if you feel adventurous, you can give fixing them a shot yourself.
Summary: bad now, good later. At least that's my non-expert opinion.

Well honestly if Data ever makes a decision to not improve something lest he break backwards compatibility, then he is doing things ass backwards. Sometimes you need to break backwards compatibility, in the words of SOTD there. SharpenedOnTheDawn wrote: Summary: bad now, good later.

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
Cool, you can actually win the campaign now. A small problem is that the WIN text overlaps the text at the end of the game.

Re: CC should now be updated on steam
If anyone cares version at licensng.datarealms.com was also updated to 1.05
UPD:
Looks like standalone version have some forgotten campaign data in Metagames.rte. Also standalone .exe is 4190208 bytes and steam .exe is still 4034560 bytes.
