I think that on occasion he can be funny and for a time I even subscribed to him
But I found out about PewDiePie long after I learnt about Amnesia in a very normal fashion
ie. Game news

I remember when TotalBiscuit played KAG the servers crashed from overload. And then MM called him an idiot on the forums. It was funny.

I watched a documentary on Modest Mouse, enjoyed it very much so. And I learned Isaac Brock has a cute cat.

Wow, I completely missed this, alright then, lets get a few things sorted out.

A.1: Pledging money now gets me a mid-tier ship and life time insurance on it, that might sound a little bit unfair, but space sims tend to be a lot more about strategy and piloting skills rather what gear you're using. Insurance will be offered for sale using in game money as well, so its not exclusive, and it's just a convenience that I won't have to pay for it.
-----
B.1: I disagree, and regardless they're stretch goals, they're just meant to be added bonuses for over the top funding.

B.2: As I said in A.1, a lot of the gameplay is skill based, for example in X3 (another space sim), I can confidently take on a light battle ship with the starting ship. Other than that, the ships we get are basically just a hull and basic weapons, and when the ship gets destroyed anything I've upgraded is lost. Unless you were talking about the skins and modding manual, because you know, skins are OP as ♥♥♥♥.

B.3: If you're talking about you not liking space sims, then that's cool, but if you are talking about its implementation, then I can say with quite a bit of confidence that you're wrong. If you read about what they're planing to do (You probably haven't, but that's understandable, I sat down and read through all of the available design documents and notes) it's actually pretty smart with the PvP, multi-instancing and the like. While I won't spend hours writing up what they've already explained, I will mention that practically all of them have A: worked together in the past, and B: Created incredibly similar games (and are in fact the creators of the genre) meaning that if ANYbody were to do it right, it would be these guys. The only thing I would have been worried about is their transition into a relatively new game engine and working around it, but if I said the tech demos were not only demonstrating against that, but were also less than awesome, I'd be lying.
-----

Essentially I love what they're doing, I have full faith in them, and I am pumped with enough hype to last me until the 2 year release. I've dreamed about a game like this for as long as a remember, and I could not be happier about the devs, or the way they've gone about funding it.

I pledged, I LOVED freelancer and even had a server for it. I'm gonna upgrade my pledge to the Avast-package when the option for it is up... But a hundred cock-gurgling dollars is ALOT, but I think it's worth it.

Alright time for a what if scenario?

What if your psychopathic uncle named Eats-Kittens locked you in his basement and gave you nothing to eat and drink besides used toilet water, and Kittens, and there just happened to be a rope and a stool on the ground below a sturdy looking pipe. What would you do in this type of situation?

Try to kill him, hit him with the stool and strangle him with the rope. If all else fails suicide. I will not kill cats for his amusment.

Your locked in the basement while he's out doing psychopathic things like having a massive blood orgy, or sacrificing small animals to Satan. How are you suppose to kill him from a basement?

Whip the ♥♥♥♥ out of the door with the rope and be a general noisy nuisance, so as to draw his ire enough that he comes down to punish me or something. But little does he know that once he opens the door, his face will be completely plastered in a ghastly mix of pee and poo that has acculumated on the floor over the weeks. Before he can recover from that foul assault to his visage and senses, i will trip him up and savagely whip all the ♥♥♥♥ off his face while squealing various profanities. Past that, STOOL THRASHING. While squealing various profanities in an oddly high-pitched voice. Once i have pounded 20-30% of his body mass off, i will call the police and say that he got mauled by the gigantic shit-spewing demonic squirrel that all his satanistic rituals led to summoning, because that will cover everything that happened to him. Including the stool thrashing, because that's how demonic squirrels roll.

so there
