Funk Souldiers, a story of two bad motherfunkers, Harriot, a fast paced, no-jive fool with an affinity for short range small arms, and Roy, taxi driver by day, demolitions expert by night (and holidays) and their struggle against the Disco Mafia.

Also a landscape

And thus an awesome half-serious half-comedy movie plot was born.

Yep, buddy cop movie of the decade material (-year seemed to less a title and -century too much; for all we know there could be a sequel)! Fantastic drawings :D

Lol, thanks fellas. I think it'd be better as a game, a fast paced shooter involving music, endless waves of thugs, and plenty of one-liners. :D

BTW, that hunter/trapper is pretty sweet Adriaan, the lighting is quite impressive, I like how things lower down are not as strongly lit. The shadows aren't very well defined or sharp however, which makes me think it's foggy out or there's an overcast sky (which kinda contradicts the strong lighting). Face isn't bad but the shadows need to be more defined, light that hits above and to the side is known as Rembrandt lighting and always results in a specific pattern of shadows.

As for the pose, the arms are awkwardly posed, they should be more foreshortened, the upper arm should retreat back and the forearm should approach the viewer with the elbow staying pretty close to him. Here's a sloppy draw-over to clarify (or maybe confuse).

Rembrandt lighting? I didn't know that was a term, yet i use that kind of lighting almost all the time. That's actually really useful advice, even if it wasn't for me. :U
Regardless, those drawings of yours are kickawesome, and i don't use that adjective often. And there's a BADASS FRO, i mean holy ♥♥♥♥ man are you trying to make me explode from the awesome?

Thanks madmax, that actually helps a lot! Think I need to consider the pose more in three dimensions rather than a flat image, which I reckon frontal poses might too easily be reduced to, leading to weird anatomy and incongruent shading. Although all in all it comes down to a lack of experience with doing figures and efficient shading. Gotta practice..!

That said, here's a practice apple (ref)

That was fun to do, think I might do some more :P

Tasty looking apple, Very good likeness to the ref image. Only thing that I spot off is the shadow, which is more green in the ref, shadows are rarely pure grey or black thanks to reflected light. Also the core shadow could be a bit darker.

@Shook: Thanks, glad I could help.

Woohoo artthreads.

Something about it inheriting the earth and turning it and its inhabitants into a giant engine to fly off into the emptiness of space. My comprehension of the color concept makes me sad.

It looks a lot better when glowing blue and not against a blank background.

As a vectory kind of person I must say the blades are very nice and smooth.

Well actually three of these are dwarves, the bottom right is some kind of punk.

Nice Dwarves, although the bottom one looks more like an elf to me, features are too long.

Cool Axe, Torrent, from a practical standpoint the spear tip wouldn't work to well since it's shrouded by the blades on both sides. also the smaller blade on the back, the part where it tapers into a thin sliver of metal would probably have some durability issues.
