Re: I just Bought this 1.0

Then again, it would be easier to ask for Crow or someone else to update the mod to 1.0. Maybe thats for the best. I've got a question though, I just recently downloaded 2 mods updated for 1.0. Then looked back at old mods for the previous builds and I noticed something interesting, these Mods came in their own .rte folders. So was 1.0 updated to scan the folders for any modified .rte folders and launch mods from them automatically or what? I'm confused as to how I install these. because if so, thats more efficient than overwriting complete installations.

I'm not entirely sure if I got what you said, but about installing mods;
Downloaded mods are usually stored in .rar or .zip files, the mod itself is the .rte folder. You need to extract the .rte folder into the directory where all the game data is stored, along with the default .rte files. For those who have purchased it through HB, it's wherever you've installed it, but I'm not entirely sure where it is for Steam customers.
There's probably info somewhere on how to install mods for the Steam version.

There's probably info somewhere on how to install mods for the Steam version. yeah what I mean is, the older mods that were not updated simply overwrote all the old files, but the newer mods come in their own <ModName>.rte folder. So I was wondering if that was a new feature of 1.0

Ohh, right, we were talking about the Brutality mod, weren't we?
If I remember correctly, that mod replaces most of the game's data and sprites, so it's more of an enhancement than an addition. It's sort of like a theme-like mod.
Traditionally, mods are in their own .rte files and work along with everything else, but Brutality enhances everything while replacing files, so it might wreck incompatible builds and not function properly.

Oh now I understand how it works. I didn't know that. So some mods convert the base files and some mods just have add ons. Thats pretty cool. So you can just keep adding on like in Arma 2 then right?

Bear in mind that when you have lots of mods CC takes longer to load when you start it up, so it's worth using this mod manager to quickly change which mods/scenes you want to load. (Don't use the activities manager the program also has as it no longer works)
