Tanks not your thing? Better hurry then, they're still giving away about 11k closed beta keys for World of Warplanes.

Of note to World of Tanks players (You know, that game that's way better) gold, credits, and free experience are seamlessly transferred between ALL your WarGaming brand games. That means when World of Warships launches, you'll benefit from that too.

Anywho I'll add more to this info pile when I'm done actually trying out the beta. This will be my first time actually giving it any attention.

This game really needs a good joystick. Something I don't have, unfortunately.

I use a PS2 controller. You're right though, keyboard with or without mouse is silly.

the controls are god-awful

they're not good with keyboard
they're not good with controller
they're not good with joystick

they're in some kind of frozen hellscape where user input in videogames doesn't exist

this is what i've heard from one of my buddies who's playing, though; i got a beta invite but did nothing with it

That's definitely what I thought when I first tried the beta Kebbit..
I'm in the process of re-downloading it since my system wipe, so I'll have to give it another go

My god, the tutorial is drop dead awful, as a new player how are you supposed to be expected to kill bots who are flying around and shooting at you? I was finally able to kill the first two after I swapped to keyboard controls, but with the second set it seemed like ran out of time or something and I couldn't even complete it! At least in the old tutorial the bots would eventually crash because they're so stupid...
