The latest version is working kinda bad.

I've had at least four or five crashes playing the campaign (using Coalition), and at times I get some unbearable lag. I know my machine isn't the best one out there, but I get considerable lag spikes when using this mod.

Hmm. Will definitely try and track this down. No guarantees, though; there aren't any crash bugs and the Lua hasn't been altered radically.

is there any way we can help you? some way we can generate error reports for you and do a bit of testing ourselves?

we can't really test without crash logs because we aren't famliar with the mod so all we really can do is tell you what situation it crashes in. the thing is it seems like it can crash anytime, anywhere. it crashed for me twice not even in gameplay, i was looking at the map doing nothing the first time, the second time i think i pressed "start battle" and it crashed

Well... probably the easiest thing to do is for people to try taking sections out of the Loadouts and let's find exactly which entries are making it unstable; I'm pretty sure that's where the problem is. It's an engine bug, though; any fix for it is going to have to wait, most likely, other than just tearing out whatever's causing the issues for now.

Mod's even more broken in 1.0 atm; please be patient, I have reported the engine bug and I guess we'll have to wait for a patch or some specific fixes I need to make to the INIs before it's playable again :-)

I seem to have rather annoying error:

---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Failed to load datafile object with following path and name:

Coalition.rte/Actors/Medic Drone/HealEffect

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

You can copy this message with Ctrl+C
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Anyone know why I get this error?

Hello,
i am one of the noobs who have just bought cortex command on steam.
i love the game but i feel i'm not getting the very most out of it so far.

could i please be told how well this patch works with the steam version of the game.

i have tried once to use it but the game crashed half way through loading,
saying:
---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Failed to load datafile object with following path and name:

Coalition.rte/Actors/Medic Drone/HealEffect

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

You can copy this message with Ctrl+C
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

i may well have not done something properly as i am not hugely computer literate.
i am, however, patient and polite :)

i'd love to be able to recommend this game to my worms-playing friends
as a kind of 'ultra-darkside' version of worms.

Congratulations on all the hard work done so far
long may it continue :)

Hey since the last reply was in 2011, thought I would ask:

I am using the steam version and it is failing to load. Here is the message:
---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Failed to load datafile object with following path and name:

Coalition.rte/Actors/Medic Drone/HealEffect

Those errors occur because this is a mod for B27, and files have moved around since B27. You can potentially fix the error yourself by finding where in the mod it asks for that sound file, and change it to where the sound now lives (likely still in coalition.rte), but you would have to do that yourself or ask someone else to fix it for you.

yay, i found something called healeffect in base.rte and i edited MDrone to direct it to that file
and i tried again and it gave me a different error message this time.

i have made progress!
almost like i'm doing something for myself :)

this is ace, i feel like i'm a freaking programmer :)
ok, next problem is

Roninhead in Ronin.rte

and i'm off to find out what i can do about that :)

this is great, i've never done this with a game before,
it might not ever actually load but i feel like i'm involved :)

(note to self, too many smileys)

ok, i did some roninhead stuff
and the machine accepted my script :)

but now my simplistic method has hit a different flavour of snag,

now i get:
---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Failed to open included data file Error happened in Missions.rte/Scenes.ini at line 3!

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

You can copy this message with Ctrl+C
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

but i am undaunted, i'm going in!

i will look at line 3 of scenes.ini in missions.rte and see what a chimp with a keyboard can do...

hmmm, this seems to be about IncludeFile = Missions.rte/Scenes/Objects/DummyAssault/Index.ini
because there isn't a dummyassault folder in the objects folder.

so i'm going to....

delete the bit from missions.rte scenes that asks for it,
ha ha, i am as destructive as i am ignorant!

let's go :)

oh bum,
this time it just crashed without an error message,
i have nothing to work with.

maybe just deleting things that you don't understand is not good working practice...

ah well, it was a blast while it lasted,
my career as an ace programming fixer :)

here's hoping non-idiots arrive soon...

Though your soliloquy was interesting, you can always use the "edit" button instead of doing 4 posts in a row.

Also, read a few posts above:

I really appreciate the attempt to help these guys, but the issue requires Data's attention; there is an engine bug that is preventing the mod from operating, even when all of the files that needed to be ported were moved and the INI issues were fixed.

In short, it's not just a few missing files or bad INI references, so far as I can determine; something pretty fundamental is borked, and I'm not getting any feedback from the engine about what to fix, so I'm stuck.
