Oh god not another one.
I bet all the replies are like usual too..

Yup

Most of the things you have mentioned are true, but this is still being worked on, remember that as well.
Then again, I agree with Luringen, it definitely should not be named Cortex Command 1.0, it's still not even close to being a polished game release.

Sadly, the game ran out of Steam many many years ago, and apart from an improved dropship AI and the ability to shoot through friendly troops, there hasn't been anything worthwhile added to the game for half a decade, if not more.

no, there's been rather drastic change since '06
like how levels are now bitmaps
AI able to pathfind non-retardedly most of the time instead of never
The AK not being the only weapon you'll need.
the terrain is no longer made of pudding
and a shitload of coding improvements involving incredible lua affiliation

Please know what you're talking about before it comes out of your ass, newbie.

Please Ignore Mackerel for the time being. [I'm sure you have been already]

That being said like dylanhutch mentioned when I saw cortex command 1.0 be released I thought It may be drastically changed, etc.. from build 27.
Like many said before me, we were wrong. It didn't change as much as I had hoped and I feel that yes, it should have not made an official release on steam.

Cortex Command is like an oddball child, something only a select few could befriend or love.
It's quirks and physics engines and those moments where a shoe hits you in the head and you die is what make the game.
Primarily the most enjoyable aspect is modifying the game to give you money so that you can just spend endless amount of time crushing things or shooting things.

We know that Cortex Command isn't finished. But I promise that if you play the skirmish defense for at least 30 minutes with a lot of money you'll understand the silver lining.

I just finished a 10 minute session of using a jetpack to fly out of control and do swan dives ^.^
I love that about the game, and I love how niche the game is to only allow the kind of people who actually like this sort of gameplay.

Rational people would take that as a sign that things are actually NOT improving all that much, if the same complaints keep popping up again and again. Bit of a Stockholm syndrome going on around here it seems.

Stockholm syndrome? really? you serious? I'm here because I enjoy the game, not because of any other reason. complaining about bugs is one thing, so is complaining about bugs to recent additions, but accusing us of stockholm syndrome is a direct insult to the users of this forum, and that's a whole other thing entirely. I was actually going to rant and actually tell you why your wrong about the game not having improved. I was mad. then I realized this bit of information, and removed it. the only thing you've done is essentially insult something we like, siting problems that many of us have not seen, and then resorted to directly insulting the user-base, and you've done it in only 4 posts. I'm done giving you the time of day.

That's insulting towards both the fanbase of the game and the game itself, since you're basically stating that any sane person wouldn't enjoy the game.
Good job, ♥♥♥hole.

Things actually have been improved a lot. It's just that there's a few bugs / quirks with the engine that haven't been fixed, but from what I've gathered it would be one hell of a job to fix them at this point of the development.
And yes, you're still ignoring the fact that for the majority of players the metagame works just fine.

EDIT: Darnit, ninja'd by YKM.

I think you're making a simple mistake.
You see, I wasn't insulting the forums, I wasn't insulting the people here either.
What I was doing is saying that everyone here is sick of these threads that go nowhere and only serve to piss people off, please don't say things that you don't understand. I'm sick of them too, I think we should just plain ignore them or give the ops this link.

Also, you will find nothing but insults here from now on, believe me, I've seen the way these threads go.

Edit:

It works for me, but as has been said, buggy as a Chenowth.

As much as I hate throwing buzzwords.
Hack has to be a troll. No one can be this stupid.

Insulting people is as easy as pointing out glaring, elephant-in-the-room flaws in their favourite game. Noted. This can be closed I guess.

Cortex Command isn't my favourite game; far from it. But it's a game I enjoy, despite the many bugs and flaws in it.

And with those bugs and many flaws, we also accept.
We don't spew about how it isn't even a real game.

You're throwing tantrums over things you know will be fixed,
yet you still feel like you need to insult everything pertaining to the content of the game.

I'm glad you (hopefully) understand any bugs you are experiencing are already being worked on and CC will update itself in coming time.
Until then, have a nice day, you hack.

Picking on people doesn't really work when there's more than 200 people willing to defend themselves.
Frankly, if I may say so, this thread is getting out of hand.
