CC Celebration Thread
Its been a long and persistent 10+ years and finally CC hits 1.0! Granted, this is a nice time to share in the happiness that our devs surely feel about seeing this project hitting this achievement So, as a long time player and follower I'll put my utter thanks and congrats here, and hope this thread is available for other to do the same. Share the euphoria!

Re: CC Celebration Thread
Thanks guys, it means a lot. Been a long haul, but it's worth it when I see people getting so much fun out of it, like at PAX.
There's still bugs to fix, but whenever i hear and see people enjoying the game, it gives me extra motivation to improve things
Gettin' some sleep now though...

Re: CC Celebration Thread
Although I am very happy for you, Data, that you achieved the thing you wanted to achieve, I just have to get this off my chest. Sorry for being sour, but I can't feel anything else than massive disappointment. (But in all honesty, I did not expect my expectations to be met in 1.0, seeing the lack of progress in previous builds.)
- At one point it appeared the game was going to have a nice set of missions, much like the crab cave and zombie cave. I'd like to see more of those, added together into something of a story line. Have you given up on this? Is the metagame all we're going to see?
- Other existing missions have poor unpolished bunkers. Someone with an eye for detail should definitely look these over. Dummy Assault, for example, lacks polishing. Who made the tutorial bunker? That guy should definitely do some magic.
- Take a look at what Weegee produced. His unmapped lands is very entertaining. The metagame is, simply put, boring. No offense meant, but you could learn a bit from him. (Heck, hire him!)
- The fog of war, it is ugly and it needs this annoying sound and flash removed when you explore it. I do hope it wasn't your intention to leave it as it is now? The blocky void would work for a game that is also blocky or works with topview hex maps or something, but for CC it's an eyesore.
Anyway, enough whining. Grats for making it this far. I pray it won't end here.

Re: CC Celebration Thread
After 12 years in development, hopefully, it's been worth the wait!
In all seriousness, I'm glad this happened. Delaying 1.0 and adding new features to an old engine would be bad for everyone and everything involved.

I remember modding with Alenth way back in high school back around... I dunno, build 13? Now I'm starting law school and CC is done! Sure has been a long road. Congrats, Data!

Re: CC Celebration Thread
I'm extremely happy this game released to Steam because otherwise I never would have discovered it. Despite it's many flaws, it's still one of most interesting and engrossing games I've ever played. I'm also thoroughly impressed with the modding community!

I agree, It would be very nice to have an actual storyline to this, rather than the overused scenario of: "You found a planet with some other guys and you have to kill everyone else so that you can get lots of money".

Counterpoint: I HATE STORYLINES IN GAMES*
*Except HL2
In fact I bet $100000000 that nobody could put a storyline in CC that wouldn't be dumb and lame.
