So... with Cortex Command 1.0's release in about a week or so (on Steam too) who else is excited as me for the new features such as metagame brains and various faction improvements? :D

If you have brains in diging sites, but no free brains in tradestar (spaceship), you cannot win (becouse you cannot attack), but you dont lose either (couse theres brains in diging sites) , am I right? or is there a way to buy brain units for credit?

Yeah that's the same question that bothers me.
Can we buy brains ?

In the video he stated he'd make brains auto-convert to cash if the player has no more money, which will make the campaign work properly. Obviously buying brains with money would make a player with enough bases unbeatable, so that's not in.

As for me, I'm excited. I haven't played CC in 6 months so I'm looking forward to playing a working campaign. I see FF is off but I can understand why, it was pretty unplayable (but fun) with it on. I'll read the forums to understand the exact implementation of FF.

I hope people mod the impressive number of released factions so that they work in the campaign.

Nah, you dont get it man...

E.g. I have 1 000 000 oz, five diging sites and 0 brains in tradestar: what are my options? Wait till AI take over my sites?

We were originally talking about brains being sort of an investment, but ultimately we rejected it.

Might let people capture enemy brains though.

Oh, he also mentioned you could abandon bases by flying the brain into orbit. Or at least he implied it.

I don't normally watch 40 minute youtube vids.

Still - dead end, and here is why:

e.g. theres 10 diging sites total, i have five, AI have five, we both have tons of oz, and 0 free brains in tradestar. Theres no way to attack ergo no way to capture enemy brains. So it will be a draw game?

On top of that, if you abandon a brain to attack the ai and the ai abandons one then attacks the place you abandonned, there's a bit of an endless setup there, more so if they happen to abandon the place you attack, since then you're just trading territories.
While the odds of that happening are probably pretty low, so this scenario isn't entirely endless, it seems to me to be kind of terrible for gameplay. A semi-stalemate with slow back and forth capturing is a pretty miserable way for the big epic metagame you've been playing for hours to end.
I'd still like hq battles of some sort, which would act as the last stand for a faction and as a big fight to end things on a grand note.

You can always evac a brain to attack with right? Maybe?

I'd think you both lifting a brain to attack would be GOOD. :) Two chances for you to get ahead.

So, Wait in your base and shoot down enemies? Or set up an abandoned trap base to kill an enemy AI in?

good stuff, guys.. in the making of the preview, i wasn't clear (and it wasn't clear to me, even) how the win conditions can cause certain undesirable scenarios at the end of a campaign game. I've thought it through now and this is the new win condition: At the end of a round, if all brains in all players' depots/brain pools are gone (meaning they are either all dead OR stationed in bases) THAT's when the game ends.

Then, the team with most owned bases on the planet wins the game. If more than one teams are tied in number of bases, their total gold funds are used as a tiebreaker. If anyone refuses to use their brains to attack, they will slowly be bled out by the brain maintenance/rent that every player pays to the TradeStar for taking care of their brain pool, which then triggers their brains to be involuntarily sold for gold, and eventually run out.

This also avoids people being forced to abandon their bases to go attack somewhere else, which makes no sense anyway. After all, the whole point of the brutal competition among these mining companies is to end up with as many mining bases as they can.

It's already implemented in the game now! Will do playtesting before 1.0

No. And it's "maybe", not "maby".

I'm writing posts with iPhone so it autofixes the crap out of what I write, and when the Lithuanian keyboard layout is turned on, it fixes correct english words to my native language words. Sadly theres no word 'maby' in Lithuanian, so idk what happened.

You must be some hardcore english teacher in your fantasies though? Good for you man.

Sorry for the offtopic and thank you for your answer.
