In history classes?
Well, universal history, the origins of the human, the first civilizations, Clasic age, Medieval age, the Renaissance, French Revolution, Napoleonic Empire, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, Cold War, then the history of our country, the conquest, independence, different revolutions, 1973 dictatorship and some basics of economy and civil law.

How is this important?

It's not. I was just curious about the education system in your country.

And what did they teach you in history classes?

I'll just pop in here and say that Finland's education system > all.

In our history we learnt the glory of Britain and its never ending empire, and how without us you guys would all be ♥♥♥♥.

We were taught about our 100 or so year history, it essentially sums up to 'Tried hard at a lot of things, didn't really succeed.'.

And i'll just pop by and say that in Denmark, you get PAID for going to university (and high school if you're 18+ years).

Not that it's a huge amount, but still.

I think all the nordic countries do that, actually.
Not sure though.

You made me realize that I don't think we ever learn about Australia's history, hm.

That's because we don't have any, we came on boats, became a country, failed in both world wars (although we hold the record for the worlds best retreat and last successful cavalry charge) and then we end up here, not much to talk about.

Nice way to sum up a country's history in one sentence.

Oh yeah, we destroyed their culture and replaced it with social welfare and petrol sniffing, good times.

Pretty much this, but when I was in school we had a lot of patriotism in it. Hell, when we were at war with Argentina during the Falklands War, my neighborhood was covered in flags.
