Re: Art Dump
I wish I could offer you a comment with a bit more substance than this all the time, but that is just awesome. Only thing I could notice that your rendition has overall higher saturation than the ref, as well as the small highlights that you already mentioned. Looking at the ref the shadowed brown seems pretty blue-ish I think.

Re: Art Dump
Ah, I knew the shadows seemed colder, might have to go back and touch those up as well, a lot of the hues are off but I did try to get fairly close to them, as close as I could without using the eyedropper.. Thanks Adriaan, much appreciated.

MS Paint, specifically the WinXP version since I have Win7 and Win7 MSPaint is baaaallls. I know a lot of tricks with MSPaint, including a hidden 10x zoom and colour replacement tool EDIT: Check it.

Re: Art Dump
Nice pixel Minimi, good amount of detail. bullet belt seems kinda flat though, you might fix that by giving the first couple bullets a slight highlight to imply they are turning to go into the gun, and darken the one nearest to the gun to show that it's next to be chambered. Just a thought. I also just realized how cool the FN Minimi's stock is, it rotates and is telescopic. Here's a couple sketches

Re: Art Dump
That's pretty snazzy, though it could use some darker colours (as in shades of dark yellow to bright yellow) to contrast the really bright ones, if you ask me. Then again, i use solid black outlines. @madmax: my face when i realized you just called those two masterpieces sketches Then again, that bust painting is unbelievably realistic, so mad props on that. Following that wave of awesome, we need something to bring us back to our senses. ... not sure if motion lines were good idea

Unusual for the Art Dump, but I thoroughly like it. Awaiting more from you.

Pretty cool Vampire. Finished a new piece today. (as a side note: I do believe I am developing a habit of writing out posts then accidentally navigating off page before submitting... ugh)

Re: Art Dump
So today I decided to take a stab at drawing without linework, just so happens my friend told me to "draw the last video game character you played as" Yeah it's terrible, drawing without linework presents a slew of interesting new challenges.

i think it looks 10000x better than your other work. i think you should try to stick to that style.

I prefer not to mentally confine myself to a Style, I just do whatever feels right for the current piece. however, I would like to point out that this painting isn't really in a "style", it's just a few steps further along the line of realism so to speak. basically you have: 1. colored art, not shaded. has linework. 2. colored art, CEL shaded. has linework. 3. colored art, CEL shaded. no linework. 4. colored art, soft shaded. has linework. 5. colored art, soft shaded. no linework. 6. more detail. The image kind of started as 1. went to 4. then 5.

Re: Art Dump
literally every piece of artwork in any art medium has a style. the one you used in that image looks way better than the 2004 flash theme you seem to go with otherwise hint: never use really cheap gradient effects
