cel cel cel
I think it'd go best with your art style, really. Not to mention that i'm a sucker for it, as witnessed by my own shading.
@herbert: haha oh god what
That is the most retarded dinosaur i've ever seen, and i mean that in the best way possible. Great job! c:
@Bombzero: For a 2 minute job that ain't bad at all. Also, amusing? Excellent, mission complete! I aim to amuse.

 Re: Art Dump
Two images, one the one I asked you guys about and then a second one done for another request. I think I like CEL shading, it's nice and fast. I'll save soft shading for large pieces that I have already invested enough time in to justify spending several more hours to make the shading look good.

 Re: Art Dump
Apart from the inconsistent outlines on parts of the Minimi those are really good.

 Re: Art Dump
Agreed with Amaz on the inconsistancy with the Minimi's outlines. Also think you could use a more contrasting palette, since your current values have kind of a limited range (edit: actually, it's probably just the gray forum bg). Other than that though I really like it, nice pixely art!

 Re: Art Dump
This was a pain in the booty Reference used can be seen here: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs51/f/2009/ ... rkazum.jpgAs you might notice I took some liberties and left out the neck bit at the bottom, I felt it wouldn't read quite as clearly. Might go back and brighten up the specular lights more to make it look more metal.

 Re: Art Dump
I wish I could offer you a comment with a bit more substance than this all the time, but that is just awesome. Only thing I could notice that your rendition has overall higher saturation than the ref, as well as the small highlights that you already mentioned. Looking at the ref the shadowed brown seems pretty blue-ish I think.

 Re: Art Dump
Ah, I knew the shadows seemed colder, might have to go back and touch those up as well, a lot of the hues are off but I did try to get fairly close to them, as close as I could without using the eyedropper.. Thanks Adriaan, much appreciated.

I know a lot of tricks with MSPaint, including a hidden 10x zoom and colour replacement tool EDIT: Check it.

 Re: Art Dump
Nice pixel Minimi, good amount of detail. bullet belt seems kinda flat though, you might fix that by giving the first couple bullets a slight highlight to imply they are turning to go into the gun, and darken the one nearest to the gun to show that it's next to be chambered. Just a thought. I also just realized how cool the FN Minimi's stock is, it rotates and is telescopic. Here's a couple sketches

 Re: Art Dump
That's pretty snazzy, though it could use some darker colours (as in shades of dark yellow to bright yellow) to contrast the really bright ones, if you ask me. Then again, i use solid black outlines. @madmax: my face when i realized you just called those two masterpieces sketches Then again, that bust painting is unbelievably realistic, so mad props on that. Following that wave of awesome, we need something to bring us back to our senses. ... not sure if motion lines were good idea
