I think you're being too hard on Obama.
He inherited the biggest goddamn mess America's been in since the Great Depression, had several Bush policies still in effect making it worse, had to fight the Legislative branch every step of the way, and on TOP of that his opposition decided to try extra hard to both get in the way of his policies AND make a mess of his term as president with all sorts of bull♥♥♥♥, mostly because he's black.
Pick any president you want, they would've ALL gotten their asses kicked by this term. Obama just had the sense to do his best to try and turn ♥♥♥♥ around. And god help us if Mitt Romney gets elected. 8 years of war-fueled, but compared to Romney, mild Republican economic policy got us here. We don't need another 4.

And I don't think Romney'd "wage war on the world". Just piss a lot of countries off and make everything worse.

I think the whole reason people are suddenly turning to Obama is a subconscious thing.

People are 2 things, really clear, or really confused about what Romney will do during his candidacy.
So they just revert back to Obama knowing nothing will really happen during his terms. (Other than HOPE.)

Well, thing is, obama's actually been pretty clear on what he'll try to do, whilst mitt's just been jumping around on subjects first saying he'll protect women's right to contraception then his current stance which is control over women completely and so forth.

obama's election disadvantages: tremendously unlucky and black

romney's election disadvantages: flip-flopping, plutocratic, and vaguely robotic

It's a shame whenever an election boils down to essentially two choices because it's easily possible that neither is the right option, but while I don't follow American politics closely at this point it seems like voting for Mitt Romney is something close to insanity due to his backwards social policies and attitudes towards various fairly large groups of the population.

I mean unless you're straight, white, male and selfish in which case you have little to fear.

Obama doesn't deserve to go on a pedestal, and Romney doesn't deserve unfair treatment either.

Obama made a lot of promises four years ago that he never kept. You can blame them on the democratic process, congress, or something else, but a promise is a promise. The guy's had four years and he definitely hasn't helped us get out of debt. His stance on gay marriage is heartwarming, though. I'm not sure what to think about his health care reform.

We don't really know much about Romney, aside from he's a businessman and he's Mormon. People calling him a flip-flopper is stupid in my opinion. He served in a democratic state, and he approved democratic laws. That just means he's working in the best interests of the people who put him there. Honestly, I don't think Romney is that bad - that is if he could actually fix our economy. However, it definitely seems like he'd go against abortion, gay marriage, and the like. In my opinion this is what keeps him from being at least a decent candidate.
