I mean, like, seriously... I know 1.0's supposedly almost done, but meh... Data hasn't even logged in here since before I made my first mod release, and I don't see any feedback about the bugs on the Bug Reports, nor on the Twitter feed.

Would be nice to get a better feeling that:

A. Data's actually, you know, played the mods using the R27 stuff, and has a clue about what we're expecting to be able to do with the engine in the future.

B. Has even bothered reading the bug reports and is fixing stuff.

I know he's infamous for not really keeping in touch, but this is a bit much. I honestly think this game needs one more serious beta to test whether the bugs in R27 are dealt with before going to 1.0, regardless of where the content is, personally; it really bothers me that I still have to refer people to a "leaked" release of R27+ just to get past the worst of the bugs in Vanilla, and it shouldn't be like that.

Most of the communication between the community and Data goes through the developers drafted from the community. It's invisible to the average user, but hanging out on IRC with one of the devs I know it happens.

Be patient, there's always 1.X if there are bugs with 1.0, and after 1.0 that's all there is to do anyway, new features aren't a priority after you slap the 1.0 label on.

Check harder.

Of course, why he dredged up a two-year-old thread to post that... who can tell? :???:

You should warn Data for necroing.

Xenoargh, are there any particular bugs that is stopping you from making progress with your mods?

That was most likely my fault. The bug discussed in that thread recently caused me some trouble and the way I reported it to Data probably made him think it was a new thread.

Yup; whatever bug / bugs are present that prevent the hard-coded factions (which shouldn't be hard-coded to begin with, why make special exceptions and preclude TCs) from loading properly or crashing the game during Autobuild when Turrets and Mecha are defined.

This can be tested easily and confirmed by installing my mod and playing the Metagame mode for a few turns; it's practically guaranteed to crash the engine.

It's a showstopper, basically, and I was kind of hoping to see it fixed and be able to refer people to an official build with it fixed by now.
