Re: WH40k discussion
Because Areku asked me to upload a painted mini, and I wanted to share my inquisitor with him: From left to right: Inquisitor, Mekboy, Count as Castellan Crowe. EDIT: The contrast looked a lot better when it was taken....

Mekboy looks awesome.
I want to look that Inquisitor finished though, the amount of green stuff looks intriguing.

Re: WH40k discussion
Does anybody happen to know where I could find some standard space marines for a reasonable price?
I've been looking at ebay, but the standard ASOBR squad runs for some 15£ minimum, which although is quite less than the standard box it also contains a lot less variety. I've even resorted to looking at that coolcastornot site and choosing the individual bits, but astonishingly that turns out to be even more expensive than the ASOBR squad.
All I want to do is paint a few marines in order to keep my hands busy and try out some color schemes, since I already have some forty or so ultramarines, so I really wouldn't mind buying, say, another twenty of them if the price were fair.

I really wouldn't spend 250 bucks on a model, but if you were considering the forge world one already then go for it.

BitsAndKits is offering quite a sweet deal on the dark vengeance marines, with ten bucks for a tac squad. If you don't mind the Dark Angels iconography, that is.

Natti, it looks like your paints need to be thinned a bit in the future.

Oops, I was looking at the one on the left, some wash in the creases of the armor wouldn't hurt.

GW were clowns in that regard. They probably just got fed up with people just buying the standard box set over and over. Also, I just had a proper look at the chosen marines and jesus christ they look awesome. Probably the best GW models in a while.

Re: WH40k discussion
They are really nice models, but the snap together part is what makes that possible, they didn't have to worry about customizability and different loadouts. Most of the finecast(if you get a good one) models are just as nice. No posing options make for a better looking model, but people don't want to have the same guy over and over.
