Yes, getting up close and personal is important when you're facing, say, a tank, and you need to absolutely DUMP ♥♥♥♥ of damage onto it. But for a shitload of scouts or most regular enemies, the heavy can just chill back by the dispenser, raining boolets down on the poor bastards. And when they get closer, they die more!
That's actually been the chief problem when I've played as Heavy, running out of ammo.

Dying's not a huge problem. Running out of ammo is a problem.

Only on Mannworks.
Decoy and Coaltown have plenty of full ammo boxes, and the refill ammo canteen boost is the second cheapest one. I use the Huo-Lung Heater, which chews up ammo extremely fast, and I don't have many ammo issues.

I upgraded my internet service today, tripled the speed for a 22% price increase.
And it's apparently still over eight times more expensive than the national average per mb/s, and slower than 81% of united states broadband connections. :(
