Re: Sprite Help Thread
The head of the ship looks overshaded and really shiny. Same for the black things on top - the circular ones.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Im not sure what you mean by overshaded but the black things on top are fans, I guess I just didn't make them look circular and fan-ee enough Thank you for the feedback though.

I think he means it looks too smooth in comparison to the other parts of the sprite

Re: Sprite Help Thread
I still don't understand.
The head of the ship is cylindrical in shape with a circular head, I don't know any other way of not making it look cylindrical without making it look like that.
I only have a small spectrum of white to use here.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
I don't know if it's too many highlights on the upper piece or not enough on the bottom. You should try experimenting with both.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Where would outlining work? Or should I remove the outline form the stock? I feel like if i put an outline around the barrel it will make it too thick.

Well, I think a 3 pix thick barrel would properly work fine. Tried playing around a bit, though I have no idea how the shotgun you are trying to sprite looks like, and I don't really know much about guns, so... Edit: made a few more edits

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Final version I think I am happy with it. I made a break open sprite too because I would like it to show the open sprite while reloading. Hope that is possible.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
It should be, yeah. I'm pretty sure you can't force-change the gun's frame, but you could almost certainly do some trickery with non-disposable magazines that ejects a pair of shells (feel free to use the spinning, smoking shells I made for the 40K comp!) and makes it appear like the front end of the gun is tipped open when you're reloading it.
Talk to CaveCricket - he helped me use magazine-animation trickery with the 40K plasma weapons to make it look like the heatsinks animated smoothly when firing.

Well. I think the sprites looks good especially the assault rifles, though if you want feedback here it comes. 1. I think the curved magazine on the shotgun looks a bit funky. try to work on it a bit more. 2. Dat revolver. I don't know if you where going for a hand cannon, but it sure reminds me of one 3. I think the pistol ooks to much like the auto pistol. I suggest having a grip magazine or what ever they are called, to set the silhouettes apart. 4. the magazine on the assault rifles looks a bit wonky as it kinda look more like a box magazine. I think you should move the mag 1 pixel down so it don't look like it overlap as much. 5. I think you should make some of buttom outlines a slight bit darker and give it slightly heavier shading. The revolver in particular needs this in my opinion.
