Yeah, you probably solved it that way, but the average user doesn't do stuff like that. :P
(Ps: it's not really that offtopic.)

Got an error, I followed the Readme. Using B27, with the Techion faction. Any fix for this?

Post Re: Map Pack 3 B26 v1.0.0
I managed to install the map pack on 27, but i'm having the following issue: If i try to start a game (skirmish defense) with two human player (with two 360 controllers) player ONE can not order a drop ship (when you order it, nothing happens, the countdown doesn't start). Player 2 can order as normal. If i start the game with players 3 and 4, they both can order stuff as normal but this renders the doors useless, even worse, the AI shoots at them first chance it gets. This affects also the maps that come with the game. As weegee suggested, i replaced Maps - Objects with the folder from SHEILD to get the maps running.

I would be very greatful for any help

So, you install the package as said in the instructions. Now in you Cortex command folder (or where ever you installed the game) you'll have a folder named "Maps-Objects". I've attached a file, open it, and replace all the files from the "Maps-Objects" folder in the folder of the game with the files i've attached. These files are actually found in another thread but to make it more simple for you I've attached them.

After you do that, the game starts but there are several issues. If you try to start the skirmish defense with fog, there would always be a giant tree in the middle of the map replacing whatever was underneath.

The second issue, i already mentioned, Team one cannot order anything, when you place an order (some weapons of soldiers or whatever) nothing happens.

Third issue, on some maps, your soldiers die at random when entering one of the bases.

The giant tree thing happens because there's a "Tree 1" in my mappack, as well as in base.rte.
If you used the .bat file in the objects folder you should not have this problem.
If you manually added the line to your base.rte/scenes.ini file then you need to put this line all the way at the bottom.

The second issue is interesting. Never happened to me. On which maps does this occur?

The third issue just sounds like there are too many moids in the game, leading to spontaneous suicides. Not my problem to fix I'm afraid.

Also, my sincere apologies. I won't be able to properly update this in a long while.

Thx for the reply, i managed to get rid of the tree :)

As for the issue where team one cannot order anything, it actually happens even on a clean installation of the game (without adding any mods or maps). But in the "endless skirmish defense mode" everything works fine! SO the Mappack is usable without any issues if you start your multiplayer match from the ""endless skirmish defense mode" after adding the "IncludeFile = Maps - Objects/Index.ini" line at the end of the scenes file instead of after the Bunker Modules (to get rid of the issue with the giant tree).

Thx again for your help!

I've put a link in the main post to a quick and dirty update for 1.0 (and B27).
It's my goal to have these maps included in the meta game, but for now they're best used for skirmishes.

Just downloaded and tried the 1.0 version, but it didn't work. This is what I get on starting the game:

Reading of a preset instance "Ammo Crate 1" of class MOSRotating failed in file Maps - City.rte/Scenes/Suburbs.ini, shortly before line #3404

EDIT: Don't bite my fingers please but I just forgot adding that line. Oops.

Also a bit off-topic, but will the thing where my posts need to be approved eventually go away when I go over a certain number of posts? Now I have to make another post explaining what mistake I made instead of quickly editing or removing it before anyone notices me.

It's only for the first post for spammers.

Gotcha! wrote:
Be sure to read the readme before you ask a question here!
After unrarring, the readme can be found in the Cortex Command root.

For the stubborn I-don't-need-readme's people here: Read it! You will need to add a line to your base.rte\scenes.ini in order to play!

If you post here about an error message, then you won't have read the readme and
I'll be forced to send fingerbiting raccoons after you!
