Re: Image Dump (Caution Lots of Images) MGS4 does have a FPS view, you're just in third person the majority of the game.
But I guess that would make it qualify as a third person game then.

Re: Image Dump (Caution Lots of Images) Yeah, I don't consider MGS4 to be an FPS. It is a shooter to some extent, although you can go through the entire game with minimum shooting sans boss battles.

Re: Image Dump (Caution Lots of Images) Deus Ex (I'm assuming we're talking about Human Revolution) is definitely a game in which you shoot people from a first-person point of view, but most would call it an action RPG since you gain levels and talk to people, or a stealth game because you can avoid most combat by sneaking around it. If that's the case, though, what exactly is an FPS? A game in which you do nothing but shoot? Because if that's the case, then no wonder they're all linear -- if it does anything but the one thing throughout the whole game, it's a different genre.
